Funnily enough they decided to remove the chairs afterwards for some sorta J-Rave
Yeah because that’s more of a dance Party than a concert.
Tbh while I prefer standing this was absolutely my exspected setting for a convention.
My friends and I estimated that 20% of the crowd were your usual vk Fan and the rest were either casual fans or con goers who wanted to see whats going own.
The sound was surprisingly good and Zera really gave their all. A lot of interaction with the crowd. I couldn’t see Hisui half of the time because he was in the pit.
To everyones surprise they did one encore song and since everybody was about to leave we were all standing directly in front of the stage at this point
a lot of hands were touched. One fan handed Hisui an artifical rose, which he put between his teeth for the final pose.
Hisui did talk a bit in english and some japanese. Asking who understands japanese
… but he really did not get tired of saying “We are Zera, japanese visual kei Band!”
Kiran was spinning half of them time and for the last Song he took is neon yellow guitar off grabed it by the straps and swung it rotating.
If I had no idea was vk was, I would def be obsessed now. As always I though “this is peak. The songs are great und they look so fantastic. Vk is the cooles thing in the world. Everyone must be as Impressum as I was” ![]()
They did hanshake and autographs for everywho who bought at least 25 € worth of merch. And when some people linedvup who didn’t read that, they decided they still could get the handshake. 2-Shots were also avialable.
Nearly all merch was sold yesterday, so for next two con days they wont sell more at their booth.
This con is germanys biggest anime con btw and it was so hot and humid x____x the area is lange and we had to walk between diffrent Halls for the merch/vk booth, autographs and concert and had barely time for anything else.
How was it?![]()

Sounds great, all the videos I saw looked like so much fun too and like fans and band really enjoyed it!
They sound like fun, I really hope they do a proper tour next. I don’t like going to cons just to see a live act… and the vastness of Dokomi is one big reason why I didn’t go
One definitely great thing abou the convention setting was the fact that I was able to buy more checkies this time as you don’t have any greedy VIPs (I mean I appreciate how they support the scene but man it feels like Pokémon card hording lol)
I will in future definitely also do a proper scan of them
(Please note I was not able to get a checki of every member one had to sign another. I was able to trade one hisumi for ryu but I was not able to get a minagi)
Also I don’t mind to be able to also buy some prints of illustrations of some sexy pin up men (most of my haul ended up being von lyacon from ZZZ because that is the only furry character trending in the mainstream anime community)
Just remembering. When we were waiting for one of my friends to get her 2-shot, some people ask us who this is (the band) and what they do because they signed at the “VIP area”.
I wonder if these people came to the concert later ![]()
possible questionable content SFW purchases of the convention including possible pin up style illustration
This was the first time I went to a big anime convention (I was occasionally in very small ones where the whole convention did not even had the size of one singular hall there). In the context of the visual Kei concert and merch booths. 1 hour concerts definitely work for me better than 2 hour ones even tough I definitely would not have been willing to pay 40€ for only that without the actual convention included. The fact that there were no actual VIP tickets for the concert made it a lot easier to buy Checkies of the group usually they get already completely bought up by the VIPs simply for that I gladly would visit the next DoKomi (if it can be ensured that we get a serious Visual Kei band featured as well).
Zera definitely was fun live the vocals were definitely as good live as they sounded in the studio recordings. Honestly even better. We had early in the performance a technical problem were the sound of both guitars got cut off for a while but it got corrected after a minute again. The guitarist had a lot of energy and enthusiastic tacky movements just how I love my Visual Kei. I would have wished the bassist would do some more show but he definitely at least made sure to always get in the front when there was space. The group definitely did a good job to approach everyone in the publicum by moving around the stage very often.
In the artist alleys were a lot of nice artists which live in Germany or somewhere close to Germany, which definitely was nice to see because with the way how the algorithm works I always only find other Asian artists. conventions give you the chance to find new artists with styles which connect you from your own country where there is zero trouble in communication. One of my main bothers was how even when there were clear rules against AI generated content a lot of the caterers still thought it would be a good idea to have AI generated banners and advertisement with “anime aesthetic”.
Düsseldorf definitely was also nice culinary wise as there were a lot of Japanese street food (the thing I got myself in the end was a Japanese style soft serve one with matcha flavour and one with Ube flavour) and also various kinds of Asian restaurants with authentic Asian cuisine not just the gentrified dishes.
