B7KLAN J-Rock Fest (Visual Kei festival) in Paris will be held (10 bands, July 11-12)

True…
I just want their triumphant return after that single EU tour from 2014

I’m jealous that I can’t go.

Man, the lineup started pretty strong imo! I just need a couple more bands I love in order to get myself on a plane to Paris🤩

I already told my partner that I go to Paris in July unless she wants to approve my trip to Japan for another two weeks. I guess, the choice is obvious budget-wise

By the way, the headliners are likely to be European bands.

It would be HILARIOUS that a poser such as Yohio, nepobaby supreme, headlined an event with real, actual visual kei bands from Japan :joy:

Petit Brabancon would be great live at a metal festival or hardcore show.

What about Sadie? They seem like an intresting option as well.

Absolutely agree :joy: but I think Jane meant just european metal bands, that are not really vk related?

…what european metal bands would make sense? A band filled with otakus like Beast in Black?

I would have to imagine the European performers are local French acts or from somewhere nearby that are acquainted with the organizers.

What makes you think that? I think they will just be some random French (vk or metal) bands which are friends with B7klan.

Deviloof had souf(f)re as opener. French band with 201 monthly listeners on Spotify lol

Edit: Their post also said “2 special European guests”. Guest sounds like the opposite of a headliner.

They did this routinely with other bands too. Iirc even dir en grey had a random French band open for them

At this point I suppose I’m in no place to say what’s possible for these guys and what isn’t, but I think anything from Swede-kei is also impossible due to none of these people having been active in any capacity for years besides a couple solo tracks by Yohio. Now if Kamijo is coming over Yohio could theoretically do a couple of songs in addition to performing as a session musician for him, but I think even Luna Sea performing at this festival is looking likelier than that.

Speaking about Yohio - couldn’t they invite Disreign for this gig? Or they’ve disbanded already?

A long time ago and everyone has very much moved on from it. I do not believe there is a single active vk adjacent project in Scandinavia + Finland

I legit forgot about the two European bands lmao

I just don’t see any other point in having European bands at a VK festival. Either that or they’ll be the opening acts

So European bands might really be the opening acts.
