Yea, his career is done. At least for the next 10 years. He might get jobs as an engineer/studio musician probably, but not in the spotlight.

It’s good that Kenta is willing to just come forward and admit he made a mistake. I can understand why he’d have a hard time accepting it at first, even with the evidence in front of him, given how long they’ve known each other.

Daiki probably ended up fucking three bands over with this, because HER NAME IN BLOOD were supposed to reunite this year as well.

Let me reply to you as you replied to me.
Songs like Coming Home, Zombified, Popular Monster, Bad at Life, Loser + much else new, or older stuff like Rolling Stone - are sooo good. People are of course allowed to hate him but no one can deny that he is one hell of a writer, he writes so catchy songs. I personally think he deserves a second chance and i recommend everyone to believe in facts, not rumors, verdicts might also be wrong but they are at least more believable than rumors. Also he knows himself he is ā€œbad at lifeā€ and often criticizes himself in his songs.

I feel like a lot of people who hate on Ronnie Radke don’t really know much about him. I’ve been following him since his time in jail, and it’s funny to see how strongly people react to his trolling and shitposts.

ice cold take here, but I don’t think performers should be talking to their fans outside of meet and greets. A lot of allegations have appeared over the years all because a musician thought it was appropriate to chat with a fan privately through DM’s, or thought it was appropriate to hang out with a fan in a bar after a gig.

It’s disgusting. And I really don’t see this getting any better because there are bands who have Discord communities now and that kind of stuff practically encourages grooming and other predatory behavior.

They are also people and how do you even define at what point someone is a fan. Has heard some songs? Attends a show?
Are they supposed to talk to no one before finding out if they might be a fan?

The DM thing is fair but honestly in real life that just does not work. At what point is someone too famous to talk people after a gig?

We had another thread were people said it’s so much nicer to just take a free picture with metal bands members after the show because they don’t act like stars and sell every aspect.

This is not a ā€œdon’t talk to perfomersā€ problem, this is a ā€œdon’t tolerate predatorsā€ problem. These things don’t happen all of the sudden but too much people are complicite and look away until something big happens.

I think there’s a distinction that has to be made here. There’s a fundamental difference between saying ā€œhey, great show!ā€ to a musician after a gig and talking with them / building a relationship with them through DM’s.

There’s also a fundamental difference between asking a musician for a picture after a gig and going to a bar with them for drinks and intimate conversations.

There’s also a fundamental difference between talking to a musician about the gear they’re using on tour and being invited to a backstage party after the gig.

The reason bands at this level traditionally keep A LOT of space between themselves and the public is because it eliminates risk. It keeps musicians and the public (ā€œtheir fansā€) safe. That doesn’t mean every musician is a predator or every fan is an unhinged lunatic, it’s the fact you’re introducing the possibility of those things happening that’s the problem.

There have been too many credible allegations leading to the destruction of people’s lives. There have also been too many false allegations that have also lead to the destruction of people’s lives.

This is why people doing everything they can to avoid those situations is ultimately the best course of action.

In Crossfaith’s case, that is probably also true of them.

VK is just a little more complicated by the fact that connections with fans are essential to building up a fanbase to progress in their careers. Which, hey, no judgement if everyone is an adult. Stuff can still go wrong, but adults can at least gauge that risk for themselves.

All the more reason for underage fans to exercise caution when messaging these guys. It’s the adult’s responsibility to say no, and they’re 100% at fault if they know about the person’s age and continue talking about ā€œmeeting upā€. Don’t get me wrong.

But at the same time, I feel like some of the desire to message these guys and then post the screenshots is tied in with ā€œcatchingā€ someone like some kind of sport. It must be kind of exhausting for these guys, most of whom don’t speak English, to receive a bunch of messages from foreign 12-16 year olds who don’t speak Japanese.

—-particularly when most of them hopped over from the K-pop fandom, where finding someone to ā€œcancelā€ is just part of the fun.

If your scene is built around identifying your fans and finessing them into spending more money, then the first instinct might be to engage with messages they get. I suppose it’s up to the guy to realize that these kiddos won’t contribute to their bottom line for years and refrain from engaging with them.

Ooh maybe that’s one of the things that almost always seems risky, imho, is when an artist in general has this distance (fine) but not for YOU (!!), the new person not in the scene who’s interesting to them

Like if you the fan get to feel like you’re getting special / unearned treatment, like ā€œaccessā€ to the artist’s attention is rare but you’ve just got it… maybe that’s not an inherent problem always, but a good time for both parties to reflect

but who knows, i’m just some guy, no sociologist or anything!
