That’s some prices there.
But I am not the one paying that, so eitherway.
But I hope everyone who goes will have a blast.

Oooh, Sala Silikona is a nice little place i’m fond of. Good places around for dinner too. Excited!

Damnit, I missed my chance

But yeah, if people are willing to pay the prices, then it is what it is. :person_shrugging:

To be fair the prices for MUCC, the GazettE and dir en grey were similarly high for the regular concert tickets back in the day, so that’s fine by me. VIP is something I’m not fond of anyway, so :woman_shrugging:t2:

35 EUR for a touring vk act potentially playing for +90 minutes is what everyone’s used to and what has been kind of the standard for a decade +. The VIP pricing is, well, the organizing greasing the wheels to see some kind of return for the investment so whatever

I aim to go, I hope they’ll take off locally with the word spreading around. Definitively more interesting to me than the quasi-vk albeit decent fukuro and jiluka’s third time playing the same songs

Yes, it’s better for them to have two tiers of pricing to give people who are just wanting to see them without any extras a standard concert ticket price (which, to my understanding, 35-40€ isn’t bad. Ticket prices have been going up worldwide)

Offering the whole package (early entry, probably either a merch or 6-shot perk) for ~110€ seems a bit steep, yeah. But it is probably the only way they can be sure that it’ll be profitable.

Not familiar with them but I might still go. If only because I’ve never been to TiivistƤmƶ and I’m insterested to see how it is as a venue.

I’m not complaining about ticket prices at all after seeing how Americans have to pay hundreds of dollars for an entry ticket (plus VIP upgrades, if there’s any). (Not in a VK setting specifically, just concert tickets in general)
40€ really isn’t bad.

VIP upgrade will include:

  • First entrance to the venue
  • Photo with DAMNED (with fan’s phone)
  • Dedicated pass
  • Signed photo.

2shots will also be available in limited quantities.

"A 2-shot cheki is one polaroid with the arist.
2-shot: 1 (you) +1 (artist)

To be eligible for a 2-shot purchase, you must buy at least 1 item of merch, regardless of cost. Price for a 2-shot will be of 30€/Ā£.

You can’t take a 2-shot with more than one person, only you and the artist.

You can’t share it with a friend.
Purchasing for other people is not allowed."

Buying merch to be allowed to buy a cheki? Hm. I don’t know if this is the norm in Japan, but to me that sounds a little…strange.

I saw that Jiluka’s first Europe tour had a similar thing where 2shots were limited to VIPs, and you had to buy a merch item, iirc.

Mind you, they also typically only do 2shots for Japanese fans if they buy 10,000Ā„ in non-cheki merch unless it’s a fan meet up event, so there’s that. Functionally, it’s basically charging 10,000Ā„ per 2shot with the added perk of getting merch as well.

Most of the bands I saw had a system where you needed to buy merch of any kind for at least 5000Ā„ or 10,000Ā„ to get a free 2shot. Some others would offer a flat price regardless of merch buys, ranging from 1000-10,000Ā„

In some rare occasions, it’s ā€œbuy this particular merch item for a free 2shot (almost always CDs or DVDs)ā€, but that is more common at instores and special events.

I didn’t encounter anything stating that people must pay for both a merch item and a 2shot separately in order to qualify for one.

For context, 10,000Ā„ is worth about 61.50€ and 52Ā£.

Now, usually, Damned offer free 2shots for merch buys of 5000Ā„. Or 30.75€ or 26Ā£. So, not thhhaaaaat much more, but in Japan you would at least get the merch too for that price.

I wonder if they allow people to multi-buy the 2shots, or if you need to purchase multiple items to qualify for multiple 2shots?

it was the same for jiluka. you need to buy merch to get a cheki taken with you and a member, not just a regular old cheki. normal cheki with just a member will probably be sold for 5-10€.

2 shots were not limited to VIP for jiluka, everyone could get one.

I kinda wanna go as I really want to support the scene and see more Japanese bands live (especially since Jiluka’s lives were a lot of fun), but am still a bit undecided… I am not really a fan of them (though I find some of their material to be enjoyable enough).

I have bo clue how good they are live (anyone here who has a clue or has seen them in Japan?).

I really don’t want to spend 35 Euro for the ticket plus train / bus tickets and then not enjoy myself…

I also would like to go but I won’t.

The pricing is not stopping me but as it is on a week day I would need to take two vacation days and I pretty much have them all already planned for other occasions

I am not really a huge fan of their music either but I saw them live in February and they immediately became a band I would go see again any time. Hitone’s vocals are absolutely incredible live, I could not believe the sounds coming out of this man. I am absolutely going to see them in Helsinki :heart_hands:

Thanks a lot for sharing your live experience with them. It’s impossible to find concert footage (or I am just too dumb to find it). To hear he can sing is very reassuring (I can tolerate bad vocals on a studio recording, but live not so much…)

Guess I will consider going to their concert then

On their Twitter account, they occasionally post live clips. To my knowledge, I don’t think there’s a live DVD and fan filming at shows is banned so the clips are the best we’ve got.
