I would unironically love an entire album of that style, yes
yes
Yes
Wow surprised by how many are for that dark psycho-death-kei or what you would call it…
I would rather the band get away from the muddy-ass ungabunga DSS/Unraveling sound since it felt like they were stuck there for an eternity, but, hey, apparently it’s what the people want
ungabunga lmaoooo coincidentally when dss dropped that’s when i stopped religiously listening to the band, but that was just me being a moody 20 something maybe.
Don’t get me wrong, I like DSS! It just felt like their sound was stuck in purgatory for years during that era. I don’t think they should chase that high, super dense Diru feels so played out now.
Ultimately they’re gonna do what they’re gonna do! I’m just hoping it’ll be inspired and a little surprising.
DSS was the last time the band shocked and excited me. ARCHE was great, too; a really solid body of work which I actually prefer to DSS.
Nothing since then has captured my attention aside from the occasional song here and there. It does feel like they’ve been beating the same horse for a long time
I’d really like this new album to blow my mind like they’ve done in the past.
Perfectly put. Arche was their last truly great work.
More or less whole tiw was trash. I am not even the biggest fan of ranculucus which people say is the best song of the album, but ok one good song. Phalaris has two good songs and those are oboro and 13, rest is trash or genericrehash of their older songs.
Re-releases of older songs don’t really excite me and their latest single “the devil in me” is trash and the music video hurt to watch, AI mess + tried so hard to be edgy that it became cringey.
Just as a sidenote i also think sukekiyo’s recent work has been very mediocre as well, and their last single is one of their (the) worst songs ever. The dogband’s latest title track single “vendetta” is trash. I think they have only been able to release one good so far, one good song in soon 5 years, which is kodou.
It seems that all recent Kyo-related stuff is so boring and weak.
TIW and Phalaris are a ton of fun and Erosio is easily my favorite sukekiyo album
Petit Brabancon, uh, exists
I liked Houmonsha X but everything else was just rehashed trash of their previous releases, like Moan is a weaker version of Candis that is excellent. But don’t let me calling it trash bother you, we all have different opinions. But I remember when Sukekiyo had more than one good song on an album. Like can they ever make a song like Anima again? Which easily is their best song ever for me.
TIW what song did you like there? Ningen wo Kaburu has a catchy chorus but except that it feels like they didn’t even try with the verses, guitar solo etc… there are better productions on Arche. TiW also has a super weird mixing, it all sounds so light like there is no bass. You who understand me, you know what I mean.
imo DSS/Unraveling was the band’s creative peak.
They’ve continued to create great music, but nothing as challenging and monumental as that period.
I’ll never forget when Warsaw no Gensou dropped, it was like a bomb went off.
It’s hard for any band or artist to surpass that creative peak tbf, especially an album like DSS.
Erosio is the best Sukekiyo and Phalaris was incredibly solid, but everything that’s come in the interim before their next albums has been worrying. Wait and see though. Anyone who’s wasting air on dog hand is only hurting themselves.
Start to finish it’s one of their best!
I still hate DSS and think TIW and Phalaris are so much better. That’s the hill I choose to die on.
MOO was their peak, but ARCHE was their best album.
I feel like arche is an austere 10/10, and MOO is an raw and creative 9/10
Yeah Arche is again, easily their best work yet. I totally agree with you.
There are so many good songs that its nuts, almost zero fillers at all.
Songs like Kuukyoku no kyouon, Behind a Vacant image, Soshaku and revelation of mankind (and more) could have been really solid hits as standalone singles.
Then Rinkaku is on there… oh man what an album! The cover of the album is also shocking as well, is that typical Kyo? ![]()
