I’m not exactly up to date with everything but I keep coming back to two songs from 2024 over and over:

Grimnir by DAMNED

I have only non Vkei releases to offer
But currently it would be

Revised Elements by Sailing before the Wind (End of the Road is so good, play it at my funeral)

Blüdgod from Crystal Lake, I hope their future songs will stay like this, because their first releases with John kinda sucked

And Invert Hourglass had a bunch of lit singles coming out this year

CHAQLA’S mini album (very good, full length is good too)
HUMAN ERROR: 道化ノ華
Deadman’s album
NAZARE: 幻想に咲かれては
The MADNA: BLAZE (very good, and BLUE STAR is good too)
Sadie’s re-recording album
Marvelous Cruelty: 素晴ラシキ残酷II

Honestly I haven’t found much that interests me this year

The year is nearly over so here are my favorite releases so far (in no particular order):

Xanvala - Banquet (Album)

They are just so good. Love all their stuff and this album is another one full of gems.

Xaa-Xaa - のぞきたい (Single)

The title song with the MV really did things to me :flushed: the second song is also solid.

The Thirteen - Fragile / Senkou (Single)

Absolutely in love with both songs on this single. So fantastic. Maybe the best stuff they put out in a while. I keep comming back to it.

Dexcore - Skindeep (Single)

The first I heard of them and I was sold instantly.

Kizu - 人間失格 (Single)

All three Songs on this one are gold. Listend to it like a 100 times on repeat in the car.

So which single/song would you say is absolutely catchiest, of them all!? The one you want to sing along with in the chorus because its just so good.
I have to say that The Thirtheen - Fragile/ Senkou just like Cerva above mentioned is high at the list.

Matenrou Opera’s Hikari no Ame and Subete wo shitte iku monogatari are two other candidates. Please check them up if you have missed out.

What would you guys say? We are talking the most catchy jrock/vk song of the year!

i’d say カラビンカ’s new album 晩年. i know oniroku isn’t new to the scene (big fan of palette and earlier カラビンカ stuff) but its refreshing to see this type of musicianship and artistry nowadays from a dominor band. the fact they’re just a hobby band on top of everything too, they’re great.
