I’d die if kuroyume was on the bill but it’s not happening ![]()

this lineup is making me more and more want to catch a plane ticket for France, sounds great so far, just hope we’re not gonna be let down 2 weeks before the festival because of some " issues " ![]()
This is my biggest fear. I’d be traveling from Seattle.
I’d probably die from happiness ![]()
Thank you for the explanation!
It still breaks my heart that they never made it here, Merry are one of my all time favourites ![]()
Oh, please no
I really don’t want to travel to Paris.
Nevermind I’m dumb didn’t see the date lmao
Petit Brabancon is more of a rock fest type of band if they ever go overseas, thats their scene and style.
Nice to see An Cafe back, glad they finally found a show that works for them to return overseas. Thinking they manage to get Plastic Tree as their big headliner but aside from them, I can see MUCC, DespairsRay, and Nightmare or other bands of similar stature being added to round out the festival. Unless they convince Gackt to show up and headliner.
7,000 is still alot of people and most vkei shows aside from acts like DEG, Gazette, or Hyde don’t cross the 1,000 capacity overseas.
I respect An Café, they knew how to put on a show back in the day. I don’t think they’ll be too bad now.
If there are no bands the level of popularity of Luna sea, there are no way they can sell 7000 tickets for 2 nights
The only " big band " I can think of who would be able to be on the top of the set, in a realistic way, is La’cryma Christi ( Or Shazna, but a girl can dream ) and yet ! Lacryma are more on the " legendary but niche underrated " side so I don’t think they’d sell that good in a festival like that :l ..
This aside I’d bet on Nocturnal Bloodlust, Sugar, Lyrica ??, Dazzling Bad maybeee, D=out/Kouki/ Kouki + Seth + Tsukasa, Xanvala ( pleaaase ) ![]()
At this point, based on my vague understanding of what’s popular on TikTok and what we know, I’m going with:
- Azavana
- Jiluka
- Kizu
- An Cafe
- Kane to Juusei
- Nightmare
- deadman
- D’espairsRay
The 7000 capacity takes out a lot of bands for me. Lyrica, DazzlingBAD, DAMNED, Mamireta, Senketsu Ako Chan, Fukuro, XAA-XAA etc. would all do well playing outside of Japan, and would fit great in the lineup as examples of current bands that are popular overseas. But I only know that a handful of them have played venues that hold 1,000 plus, and almost all of these bands are regularly playing the livehouse circuits. Even with the overseas popularity, I don’t know if it will translate into a good turnout.
On the other hand, bands like 0.1g no Gosan and Zigzag are doing well in terms of popularity and are playing bigger venues, ZigZag especially, but they’ve almost exclusively catered to their national audience and have rarely interacted with anyone outside of that, I think Gosan did a small furi type thing at an anime con in Southeast Asia, but that’s it, so that also wouldn’t really work.
Realistically, I think Arlequin, Dezert, maybe R-Shitei, Matenrou Opera, etc. Would be good fits given the bands that have already been announced, Dezert especially since they recently played the Budokan. This is such a hard thing to make a list for, because God, GOD I want Mamireta to play outside of Japan, but most people would probably just want to see Nightmare.
Super looking forward to this! I’m already saving up for a Japan trip in October, so I’d probably also travel to Paris for this. It’ll be interesting to see the number of European vk fans all gather together!
Although I’ve never been to any music festivals before, how does it work? Will each artist only play a few songs, and the headliner will play for longer? How many hours will it be? Will my poor feet be ok?
OK, wild guess, and I’m kind of surprised that no one named him yet.
What about Miyavi?
Obviously, he is not doing VK anymore, but even though this topic is talking about a “Visual Kei festival”, officially it is a “Japanese Rock festival” - and for a lot of people out there his music still counts as rock.
He is Headliner material and was comparatively often on tour overseas.
No, absolutely not

I don’t how much we can read into this but I think it says “10 japanese Bands” not artists. So tbh I only exspect Bands and no solo artists. If Gackt then with fried Chickenz. ![]()
it’s funny how everyone forgot about The Last Rockstars, if this was two years ago they would 100% be there ![]()
These bands together won’t attract enough people, in my opinion. Tiktok popularity doesn’t equal real-life popularity. Many of their fans are too young, and they won’t travel from other countries. I’m expecting more established bands that already have some status in the scene.
Especially because DAMNED and Fukuro literally just toured Europe and Lyrica will have two gigs in Cologne in June.
I get your point, but I don’t think we should put too much emphasis on the word “bands”.
Even though big, highly professional festivals nowaydays often use the term “acts” or just “artists”, lots of smaller ones still just say “bands” and include solo artists in this.
I’m not that familiar with the organizer of this festival, but it might be their first one?
I think we might even be at a point where speculation about how many asses they need in seats and what will get them there is redundant. This is so significantly more ambitious than a regular tour that I’m pretty certain they’ve either got backing or someone put their house and kidneys as collateral just to make it happen. No one knows also what the capacity will be with their setup.
I’ve also seen talk about this event even in my language, I think a lot of people will be travelling and don’t really care about the price that much — at least I don’t. It’s an event, it’ll be a holiday and an excuse to spend a week in Paris.
