First Visual Kei festival in Paris will be held (10 bands, July 11-12)

I do agree that the silence wasn’t it. But f-ck those fans. Watch them having to sort thousands of the GazettE and DIRU applications because some of them couldn’t read the room.

But boy am I glad they finally said something.

Technically B7klan still hasn’t said anything haha

I meant anyone of them haha

B7 or Hévn, as long as we finally know what’s up. And since Hévn are the ones running the website/hosting in Japan I’m not surprised they spoke first!

oh no the poor organizers have to organize :sob:

Well, technically good news because it’s not a cancellation

But I am not sure if I understood correctly what happened here?! There Fans applying in the name of Bands? That would be pretty crazy. How do you even think of something like that…

The application was a Google form accessible to everyone and so simple to fill out. Any fan who knew the OHP/social media of their favorite band would have been able to submit an application, maybe trying to give their chances a boost. Misunderstanding or mistranslation of the Japanese might have even led some fans to think that was the right way to recommend bands, I’m not sure.

I mean, assuming that this story is true…it kind of confirms my feelings of not envying the organizer for how the VK fanbase can be sometimes (especially the younger, newer ones).

However…I’m struggling to understand why they didn’t speak up sooner if this was the case. If it was clear that they either had duplicate entries or entries from bands that seemed far too prestigious or who had already told them no, then B7Klan could have spoken up at any point to say “Do not do this, as this interferes with the festival”.

Might be a huge coincidence, but 2 hours after I commented on souffre’s post? lol

Anyway, I’m glad they’re finally alive again.

A ticket plug right now is crazy!!! All of these contest problems are brand new, doesn’t even touch the privileges questions.

The thousands of Senketsu applications :skull:

So we might not even be sure if this was because of Japanese fans misinterpreting that it was supposed to be them recommending bands, or if it was western fans disregarding instructions (or maybe misinterpreting translations from English)?

Either way, they seem to have really fumbled this contest. You’d think a Battle of the Bands would be simple enough, but engaging the fans too early seems to have caused a lot of these issues. That, and if the issues are as bad as they could potentially be, did B7Klan and he’vn really just sit on the email mailbox until Feb 28th and open it to find a total SNAFU?

It should have honestly just been an email blast to all the indies labels. Build a shortlist of eight, and organize the Taiban. Fans can like it or leave it.

As for Code of Ethics, I’m thinking they’ll probably want to minimize the risk of scandal, so there may be a prohibition on trying to chat up European fans to meet before or after the show, as that guy from Crossfaith tried to do.

I think someone on Twitter mentioned niche/Nietzsche had a Hitler salute furi. I assume it’s more that stuff, Nazi uniforms, Swastikas etc.
