Linkin Park new album, "From Zero" release + 2 new members

hope that this lady isn’t active in that ‘church’ anymore, but it is what it is. as long as it doesn’t infiltrate the music which thankfully i didn’t have to deal with as a mars volta fan for years (though idek what they’re singing about most of the time tbf).

It’s so fucking tiring to see everyone get subjected to a constant purity test, people really has to start to be able to live in society accepting nobody around them was born to meet their specific criteria in any way. Absolutely everything you consume requires the intervention of someone you surely dislike on some level and you don’t do background checks on everything. Doing it with art or entertainment because it’s front facing just underlines how much of a kick people get out of undermining someone that generally is achivieng more than most of us will ever do.

One more thing to consider re: Scientology and being present at Masterson’s trial

People raised in cults don’t get a choice in what they do and don’t show up for. If she has escaped the Church by now, but hadn’t yet by then, she would very likely have had to show up regardless of whether she wanted or not. Because again, I must stress this - the Church of Scientology is a cult that she was born into.

Take that as you will.

She has potential to evolve more as a vocalist in this role in my opinion. She has a powerful voice as is and some of what was shown so far kinda showcases that. Her previous band Dead Sara also showcases some of her vocal talents but on a different scale. I feel it will take about a year or two for her to probably adjust to this. I’m mostly interested in the upcoming album to see how this will turn out.

Not to be insensitive to any members at all, but in general moving from a male singer to female singer in a band doesn’t happen very often in this particular scene, especially for a big band name like Linkin Park and not to mention the previous singers role she has to fill in for. For me personally, I’ll probably wait a little bit and let the band adjust everything, let the dust settle before really saying if she fits into this or not.

Some more info about the controversy regarding the new vocalist

Also, yikes

A statement from her or the band would be a great thing to do tbh.

I don’t account myself as someone who judges people fast, but there are things where I put a line.
And it’s up to everyone themselves in the end where they put their own line of morality.

Scientology/cult members won’t ever speak on rather they are involved or not only if there mega high up in the rankings and have the church consent on it. Andy from Black Veil Brides married Juliet everyone thought “oh wow, congrats!” until it was discovered she’s a member and then dragged Andy into it taking pics on insta with known scientologist members.

It was that on top of Ashley moving etc that spelled the end for the band.

The thing is Scientology is a VERY dangerous evil cult. They have kidnapped innocent people took them back to there compound brainwashed the hell out of them and once they don’t know reality anymore they are tossed into the society of Scientology like another member.

There are court cases of this happening with family members such as husbands who stand in court aboustely terrified saying “I dont know where my wife went that day. I never saw her again when I got her back she was a brand new person!”

There are people who sucessfully left the cult who told stories of what happens if you are not sucessful in leaving ie murder, disappearing acts and being housed like literal slaves in there maxium compound

women who birth kids in this cult are ripped from there childern and the kids are basically raised in a special parent area of Scientology they learn extremely early on that if you notice anything at home.
Example mom is talking about going on a trip with dad you report that to your “Scientologist mama/babysitter/aunt/ or whoever else around you” and then mama and daddy go somewhere special away from you.

It’s a very dangerous cult that even the goverment turns a blind eye to them. Linkin Park is a very massive band so sorry if we would like to listen to there music and go to there concerts without worrying “hey, is Scientology involved? hm, is there a message in there music? are we slowly normalising this cult?”

Sure but… Of all the things that can be talked about her joining LP we choose to dig into the possibility of her being related to this group… OK.

Do you hold every person involved with every service or product you consume to this degree of moral highstanding or do you entertain the possibility you’ll find any of them morally lacking and enjoy what you consume without second thoughts?

My moral highstanding came when I saw she defended a r person in court so sorry, but I draw the line at mental help and defending vile people

She did something you disapprove of so she should not be able to contribute to society with her most developed skill. So, tell me: 1) what kind of job you think he should have? 2) why is that better than using her most developed skill? 3) why do you think your criteria in this should be given more consideration than her peers?

No well Heyt you see, people that haven’t even met this person and derive all their information from social media obviously know this person better than the people that spent over a year with the person, and who absolutely had to vet the person before publically announcing their close relationship with them. Something that the aforementioned people never had and never will have.

God, parasocial relationships are a curse.

it would’ve been in her best interest to not publicly defend that dude but there is a chance she was pressured by the church. i think people don’t realize how manipulative scientology is. she doesn’t say anything and maybe her career gets uprooted. it’s not right at all, but she may be between a rock and a hard place?? again, i just hope that linkin park’s music isn’t affected or she starts using the band as a vehicle for their messages but who knows.

doesnt sound that different from the kabbalah cult that Madonna dumped millions of $ into (look-it-up.gif), the entire combo of working lower ranking members to the bone w/o paying a dime, family separation, operating on a groupthink and promoting magical thinking bordering on psychosis

for what it’s worth I like Elizabeth Moss and like xenu people at its peak were mostly high profile druggies looking to get sober who got pulled into thinking they’ve evolved over regular normies by sniffing their own farts

America gives religion a lot of free passes in general.

I can only say that it sucks that this is now what everyone is talking about, when they should be celebrating Chester’s legacy living on. I feel really bad for Mike, he probably had no idea, no one probably had any idea. Mike is such a wholesome guy, watch some interview with him and you will understand what I mean. Anyway it feels like something that should come up when you check up someone tho, at least some of those things. The thing is that its too late and those things are always gonna hurt the band going forward. They must feel like they are in one hell of a pinch now. I mean kick her out and try again? Doesn’t sound realistic either, but … hm… Would you guys say they could/should do that?

Will not listen to her singing older songs, but the new song is pretty good. I feel the chorus needs some small tweaks. Its almost there, like soooo close to be a super banger. But its a good song for sure, solid songwriting.

I feel fans are gonna be divided on if they should have kept the name or not forever. Probably a money thing too. I mean the video for the new song has 18 mill views, would they even come close to it with a new name? But again, the damage with the controversy is done… very curious to what they will do now. Dammit.

she issued a statement on her ig in regards to appearing in a court w. that man, and ljs if she refers to him as a family friend, and he was friends of her parents first and foremost, I’d totally assume she likely knew his sorry ass as a decent person overall, the masking thing with psychopaths and all that.

LP stans come off as high-key misogynist if they can’t deal with band hiring her instead of everybody else in the alt-metal scene, and the effort just flew over everyone’s heads…

but like I’m not that invested in this band, idc.

Yeah I guess so. But whatever she does like I mentioned the damage can’t be undone, the band will now forever be connected to the controversy, people will as long as she is there talk about it more than their music.

Maybe they should just kick her out after all, apologize and then come back again with another singer, asap. They must have had a few people they were considering. People love Mike, people will forgive him. Even if its a pain in the butt re-record the single and re-shoot the PV. Do it, put it out and move on. Its the only thing they can do for people to start focusing on the music in the long run.

I feel like most people will wait until the album is out to see if they are staying in the fandom or not.

rise and shine Jeffree…

They made their bed and now they have to lie in it.

Right? I am glad they went for someone fresh that fits instead of a imitator. Feels much more respectful and smart IMO. I really like the single and am very optimistic about the album.

Whats funny to me is that LP has spent the most of their career wanting to prove they can be successful doing more that the nu metal of their first two albums… And now the only thing that will make this comeback successful is proving that they still can make music that pleases the crowd that likes those two CDs.

They don’t have a thread in artists so I’ll just throw this here. It’s been over twenty years and I still consider Live in Texas the greatest live album ever produced and I don’t say that lightly.
