Song sounds great, but agreed that it sounds more like a more technical continuation of virge rather than a truely new band. I think they’ll find their sound with subsequent releases.

It doesn’t exactly mean he’s fine. Many artists will play along and congratulate their old bandmembers just for the rest of us. I really do hope he’s doing ok since we’ll never know how he really feels behind closed doors. Either way, I’ll be following him to see what he does next.
I really dislike the new name, ashmaze was so easy to remember and it stood out, now I can barely pronounce or write it, it seems so forgettable
