Totally read that as “birthrate” and thought we’re still talking about people starting families.
I’m about to be 35 next month and mostly have acquintances. Most of them are people at work, the amount of people I interact with outside of work is a single digit number.
However most of it part of it is my fault since I’m really bad at keeping in touch with people. So I don’t think I can really complain.

i have like 3 absolute real ones, but then the rest i’m like…i can only tolerate in occasional groups. and i think that is very normal as you get older imo? i just turned 35 and kinda started realizing who i like having around all the time vs sometimes.

I’m in my 40ies and don’t have friends. Only colleagues and acquaintances. But that is on me as a) I don’t like the general society of people and b) I’m a recluse by nature so
