I won.
So I was messing around with some settings on my TV because I have an issue where my TV will flip between my Firestick and my Blu-ray player if both are on. I turned off HDMI-CEC and it took my soundbar with it. I noticed the difference right away but I waited to see if my other half would also notice the difference.
She did in less than a day. Said the surrounds weren’t firing and that it didn’t sound right. I figured out my mistake, turned CEC on, and the room exploded in sound. Now she’s not looking forward to watching TV anywhere else. We’ll probably have to visit the in-laws soon and they still use internal TV speakers. I’ve gotten her to expect surround sound all the time now - it will likely be a painful adventure, or as painful as internal TV speakers gets from an audiophile.
Perhaps I can convince them to buy a soundbar…not as good as discrete components but still better than nothing! I’d run components if I had a house…
So yeah, all the money I spent getting the system together was finally vindicated. I won

I have just temporarily banned someone with repetitive multiple accounts for 6 months. If he comes up with a new one again, it will be extended to a year or maybe a permaban. We are very serious about this rule.
