Musically the song isn’t too far removed from things they’ve done in the previous album, waizatsu etc. but I agree, the aesthetic overall coupled with the grating English is a bit to take in. I see what Kyo’s going for, and appreciate the excitement over what’s purpoted to be the future instead of reheating the past in the microwave in denial, but goddamn, it’s not what I want, it’s a bit tacky.
New song and AIPV aside every time I see live footage of this band i’m brought back to how this is just the perfect band, at least for me.
Uh…i’ve been a fan of this dude for over 20 years, and i STILL have no words for what this is. I too, wonder if i should laugh or be concerned.
Oh man, is it a mirage or a hallucination? ![]()
The music video with AI, not much to say… The song really interests me.
I understand that a lot of people like Immortalis, and vocally, it’s one of Kyo’s best, but I find it too oppressive. It’s become a real obsession for me, ever since it started with the doll demos until today.
Are you having a depressed day? Immortalis
Do you want to continue being depressed? Vitium
Do you have a happy day? Erosio
Do you want to kill people? Infinitium
Are you melancholic? Adoratio
I don’t know what people expect from a Kyo band, something that always follows the same line or constant change with each album.
I guess it works with Uroboros on loop. That way, everyone would be happy except me.
I don’t think Sukekiyo would have a lot of fans left if this was the attitude in the fandom. I think people just don’t like this.
Yeah kyo, that definitely killed my mind
oh my god this is bad
AI is pretty much immoral and the dead of artistic media. It both steals from artist and threatens their life hood and it would require in the eyes of its various founders double the power production than what we currently produce which will also result in an ever faster increase of the greenhouse effect.
there was once an installation of an artist where he simply put gold fishes into a blender and gave any visitor the chance to blend this goldfish with only a click of a button.
At that point the problem is not anymore that it is bad art but that it is morally questionable. A defence of “this artist is so versatile they just try something new out” doesn’t defend them from the damage they did.
Please tell most people did not blend the fish. (Iassume some did …)
This is worse than garbage.
I’m so unbelievably disappointed that my favourite music artist has decided to continue going down this route.
Entertainment media is dead. I guess only pre-2023 pre-AI art is real now, and I’ll have to enjoy things past rather than looking forward to anything new.
How depressing.
Two gold fishes got blended
Feminine beards may be crossing an ethical line, but even ugliness can have its place.
Looking forward to the full thing. The live show as well.
Ugliness is subjective. Kyo’s costumes are often extra-ordinary and incorporate elements of the grotesque. On the whole, Visual Kei straddles the line between normality and the bizarre, masculinity/femininity, beauty/ugliness. The entire genre is (by traditional standards) niche and weird. A lot of us here are probably pretty weird.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think Kyo challenging gender conventions by showing a bearded person wearing a dress is the problem here.
the problem is definitely not the bearded person. i would have more respect and more interest if it had been an actual human in the video and not some ai shit. the problem is WHY is it there? and how much damage is done every time ai is utilized. ![]()
It all depends on what you mean by “normal”. Everything is relative. ![]()
and that is the problem I am afraid
visual kei is an art form with a lot of different ways of creative ways of self expression.
it doesn’t and actually it actively should not please the eyes of a perfect normal person, it should shock it should give curiosity. it should be innovative.
in some cases it ideally also should give catharsis to the mental unwell listener.
there is no problem in being a “normal person” but don’t expect a fandom to change its ways for you, because the main audience remains someone else.
I think I’m aligned with blossomingRuin’s post in this issue. Art’s flexible and ever-evolving, always reconfiguring the way it’s produced, conceptualized and consumed – and while I’m sympathetic with the excitement for the possibilities it’s provided for Kyo to use, those ethical questions are right there and they’re not going to go away. And to me personally, the way they’ve configured it here is just impossibly tacky, I don’t like the way it looks. Musically I’ve still got no issue with it though.
All my normies love VK actually.

Awful song and awful pv. That the pink loving AI dude couldnt even bother to change the color palette is just… ugh. Terrible.
There are bands with almost no money at all who put more effort into their music videos.
Don’t take your fans for granted, Kyo.
