Hip-hop was born in English and it’s great, it sounds very much in tune with the rhythm and sonority of the language, but now in other languages, frankly some of them sound awful. Hip-hop in German is horrible, imagine in other languages that don’t sound close to the language structure of English.
Outside of VK, hip-hop is my main genre although I’m an oldhead and dig boom-bap.
Deltron’s 3030 is one of the greatest hip-hop albums and concept albums!

Yeah, I got a preference. I listen to JID and Denzel every now and then, but I still prefer the cadence of the older stuff. I also got into the Nujabes and CYNE/Cise Starr pipeline as well.

Ramirez dropped a new album today, and it’s a follow-up to 2020’s masterpiece that is “Tha Playa$ Manual”. Tha Playa$ Manual is one of my favrite hip hop albums from the past 20 years. It’s summer. That’s what the album is. It’s pure vibes and summer. The second album might not reach the hights of its predecessor, but after one round it’s truly magnificent. The productions (mostly by Rocci but with additional help by frequent Ramirez collaborator Mikey the Magician and a few others) are god tier, and Ramirez is on fire as usual, Rocci sings like a god and the other features (like Mikey the Magician) are also top tier. I can’t wait to dive deeper into this album this summer. It’ll most likely be played on repeat through out the summer.

The legend SEEDA back with two guys I don’t know and Kamiyada+ one of pillars of modern day trap metal.
They’re putting a “Watanabe Mode” in Ghost of Yotei dedicated to Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop/Samurai Champloo) which will play lofi hip hop which means this will be the first game since the SC game to feature NUJABES in it.

Unrelated but they’re also putting a Kurosawa mode like they did with GoT so it’s black and white and apparently a Takashi Miike mode that has a lot more blood.
