If we’re talking something actually possible, with active bands where the members of the line-up I want are all still alive:

Psycho le Cemu
If we’re counting bringing back the dead and disbanded, swap PLC with Thee Michelle Gun Elephant or The Birthday.
If it’s The Birthday it’d have to be with Imai on guitar though. The songs were still good with Fujii, but I always felt like the overall vibe of the band was more fun with Imai. I felt like he and Chiba had better chemistry, even if the music wasn’t necessarily better or worse.

Nightmare, because they were my first vkei band and for a while their music was really the ONLY music I’d listen to.

However, if i had to choose 3 bands still active, I would say Buck-Tick, Sukekiyo, and DIR EN GREY. If I had the possibility of choosing 2 more, I would put PIERROT (for them, we are more focused on a short-term revival, I agree) and MERRY.
