You should look into something called an open relationship. Not necessarily saying that’s his arrangement, but you have a very hetero-normative view of the world and it’s quite limiting.

You are making a lot of assumptions that no one here can prove or disprove. Hopefully he isn’t cheating on his wife, but it’s not out of the question that he could stray. It’s not out of the question that they have an arrangement up front about this kind of thing. And friendships can always blossom into more. No one can really say.

Hmmm… I would like to say, if we are talking about married Japanese man, plus with children, he’s 99.9% into women, and understand concept of a family as “he + wife + alpha (children, pet, parents of both, etc)”… Japan is still a very conservative country.
