Damn, what a loss…
Yes! Yoshito is the oldest, Naoto is the middle and Masato is the youngest. I call them the Abe bros (their actual last name)
I am so so sorry @chemicalpictures for your incredible loss, I am also hoping he saw it. I think there’s a good chance; he last did a twitcast on Aug 18 (?!) and I feel that he must have seen it before he left. I want to believe.
Also, I meant to add on as well with my own memories of Yoshito, I’ll put it on this post here so I don’t spam the thread:
After the first year of the pandemic, I joined a Twitcast that had all three of the Abe brothers together, it was super fun, and in response to one of our questions Naoto said that Yoshito was the most handsome lmao.
We got onto one of his solo Twitcasts, too, and we asked in haphazard Japanese:
“This has got nothing to do with anything, but what do you like cooking best?”
He calmly replied that he could make anything so long as he wanted to eat it, though he did mention he could do kaarage pretty well. The bros are really good at cooking for some reason lol. I remember Yoshito or his friend posted once about him inviting a friend over cuz he had too much food or something.
In response, we wrote “thank you for telling us,” and he said “you were welcome” in perfect English before pressing a key on his electronic keyboard(?) pre-programmed with SFX, which led to…airhorns. Yes, like those MLG memes. Wish I could make this up.
It’s one of my favourite jokes with my best friend, along with the way he says “saikoupi” instead of just “saikou”.
Even in the songs he produces, it’s so easy to spot his signature style and feel like it’s something that he could be singing instead. I was really hoping he’d come back to produce more things, but now I think the next best thing is to support his brothers in their activities.
I’d love a tribute concert when the members feel ready, but I totally understand if it’s not soon or at all.
Speaking of the brothers, Naoto’s been an absolute trooper, but I can’t imagine the turmoil he’s facing inside. Nonetheless, in a slightly more positive note, he’s joining Sakura for his Busker Noir live, which, besides his activities with D=Out and Slapsly, should keep him busy for the rest of the year.
No no no nooo it can’t be tell me it’s not true god I can’t hold on No no no nooo it can’t be tell me it’s not true god I can’t handle this first no one Yamada then he is too much I admired him as a singer T ^T rest in peace Yoshi
No way… I’m lost for words.
I just found out about this and I’m absolutely devastated.
xTRiPx is my favorite band of all time and Yo-shiT was the main reason why. His voice moves me in a way that noone else’s can.
For the last couple of years I’ve been wishing they would come back together so I could jump on a plane and fulfill my longtime dream of seeing them live at least once in my life.
This news hit me like a wrecking ball, I don’t even know what else to say…
Rest in Peace
