∀NTI FEMINISM (アンチフェミニズム) accused of arson at Heaven's Door

In my local electronic store the porn DVDs are next to the anime DVDs and in the same mall, there is a store that has sexy naked people calenders visible in front of the store. It’s a stationery store, mainly selling stuff needed for school or creative work. And the germans themselves, not even woman, care about it.
My thoughts when passing by: “An american would foam at the mouth if they saw this, lol”.
So morals seem to differ inside the west as well.

And I’d argue changing this to not look bad to outsiders is not really a moral change inside society. They probably still don’t care what kids see, they care about losing face.

In the end one just has to be realistic. Japan ist not a magical anime country where everything is perfect but it is also not Sodom and Gomorrha. And that’s true for every country. Feeling morally superior is helping no one.

To add something thread relevant: starting a fire at a live house even by accident should still be punished. Do your perfomance art but this endangers people and I think this should be the line. When the live house allowed fire it’s still the responsibilty of the band to not create a safety hazard. They failed, they pay.

How about bands who use fire as a part of their performance? As I said there are live houses that allow people to do whatever they want to express themselves.

If you use pyrotechnic you have to make it sure it’s safe. When they destroyed the equipment unwillingly they didn’t put enough consideration into safety. People have died in club fires. One can be punk and still act responsible. If they meant to destroy the equipment, it is a crime anyway.

The other band should be responsible for their own equipment firstly, idk why they left their :sparkles:ooooh 150man drum set:sparkles: on the floor(! never saw someone else did that, the only time I saw drums or other instruments on the floor is sound check. Before and after the performance all the bands things should be tidy up, it’s basic)

If a car parks on your lawn are you suddenly allowed to set it on fire?

Honestly why are we even discussing this? This is a clear case from a legal standpoint. They will have to pay for the damage as they surely don’t have a liability insurance when they are notorious pyromaniacs.

And honestly if they wanna be edgy and destroy guitars or hotel rooms or whatever… well do it, i guess. But starting a fire you can’t control in a venue? Fuck you. Your art is not more important than peoples safety. Find another expression than open fire

If you think I am over reacting maybe read up about the fire at Kiss night club in Brazil:

This band performed in the live house where fire is allowed, as I said before.
If you’re not prepared for some sort of this things in the place where performing bands that known for their dangerous performances - you always have choice to stay home or go to see live where the only allowed sparkle is light stick

Even if it is allowed you need to make sure you have it under control. They either hadn’t or destroyed the equipment of a fellow artist on porpuse. Both cases make them assholes.

Kiss nightclub also allowed pyrotechnic. The band guy purchased pyrotechnic that was not safe for indoor performance despite the store stuff telling them it was not safe because it was slightly cheaper. 242 people died a horrible death.

They should just not take such a risk with “dangerous performances” … let’s stop here and agree to disagree.

It feels if you are not able to “control” ur own “fire show”, you should do it in your own detached home, where you just get urself burned… Its like if in a Rammstein show something went wrong and Till would be blaming others :joy:

Being a dangerous and bad person is very punk rock but you also shouldn’t be confused when you get heat for setting things on fire.

The difference is that that would be normal in Japan, while not in the US with the ultra radical feminist movement going on there/extreme woke/politcal correctness. Let them hear about your local store…

And my was example was only one, I probably have at least 10 that i can come up with right now
But yes I agree with much of what you say, and Japan is not a fairy tale country. There is a reason why you ride the train during rush hour there are at least 10-15 announcements of “we temporarily have stopped due to an injury” on the lcd screens in the trains, what could that be? On the other hand japan is super safe and no one will ever bother you there, except if you go to a drinking district during the evening lol, then some drunk bastard might start pulling in your clothes.

In the end no where is perfect and we have to find the good parts of where we live, and enjoy it/get the best of it. If we all are going to focus on the sad/negative parts about humanity we won’t get anywhere.

And yeah this band is just crazy, my guess is that they probably were drunk af as well… which well which doesnt change anything.

I was walking thru Oita one day with a Vietnamese and German friend, both female, and a group of Japanese guys, our same age, passes us and says “kawaaaiiiiiiii”

My first thought was “damn if that’s how the sexual harassment here goes, y’all’ve got it easy!”
But the way my friends bristled at even that simple word made me think there was something more to it than that.

Reading the posts by twitter user @unseenjapan months/years down the line, it’s suggested that catcalling from Japanese speakers towards obvious visitors/immigrants can carry an implicit threat/warning - “we’re of the same side and language as the police, so if there’s ever a disagreement, we’ll be the ones believed.”

There’s a lot more unsaid than said, but my point is - i understood none of this at the time, while i was there, tho my friends felt something instantly.

We all three had a great time on our visit! Japan treated us overall very well, and even bangya were welcoming, helpful, and kind.

Come to think of it, i did see those magazines at 711 and Lawson’s; it didn’t really register for me one way or another except as an “oh yeah that was a thing!” when i saw you mentioned them.

This conversation probably shouldn’t be had here lmao but i don’t want to ignore it, as it’s something i’m interested in & has come up directly & indirectly in my life anyway.

I want to mention that example of my own optimistic airheadedness and lack of consideration of what was later explained to me better on Twitter to say - i’m sure i’ve got zero sense the dialogues and struggles occuring in other cultures and other languages than my own.

But even in the reasoning of why a guy would call his band name Anti-Feminism (see? I can find a way to tie it back in!!), when it crosses over just enough into English that i can make some sense of a conversation being had, that’s a way i can humanize, demystify, and de-exoticize what all’s going on in and motivating my favourite music scene.
