I didn’t try to search too long but I couldn’t even find an english explanation about the band. But it seems they have been around since 2010 and the meaning behind their band name is if I understood the japanese wiki correctly “pedophilia”.
I think you only need to watch some of their PVs. These have be some of the trippiest music videos I’ve ever seen personally. But there is no doubt they are very skilled and have a talent for mixing all kind of sounds.

If I remember that right, it’s not exactly the meaning, their original spelling is Ailiph doepa, turn it around and you have “a pedophile”. So they just reversed the text.

I don’t really know them much as well. I do like their music a bit but I only listened to the last releases in terms of whole album so I would say pick those. The Exormantis and Plasma the World
Because they are most indicacative of their current sound and then work backwards through their disco

My personal favorite songs are Machu Picchu, the Kraken song that’s already posted in the topic and probably Edo Word.
Ailiph is band whose enjoyment of is dependent on your mood. It’s quite easy to put on their songs and be like “what is this shit” and then the next moment “this kinda slaps”. Therefore it’s hard to recommend this band to people.
I listened through their disco and I can kind of understand why they arent more popular. I only found like 2-3 songs that I would listen to again, from 4 albums. I can def see what you mean with “Its hard to recommend this band to people”
