If you want to stop to listen, to support this band, I wont stop you, as I wont stop anyone. It’s your right, your choice. But, this story about the rape " could be " a lie, and this possibility seems to be ignore here. I dont mind about it, I just notice.
I’ve been reading, and I find it understandable to want to dissociate oneself from potential mess, foolishness, distaste, confusion and just plain bad vibes, whether its known what really happened or not, who’s lying and who’s telling the truth. Some people just want no parts of it at all after bad news. Everyone’s different. -shrug-
Anyway, back on topic: ultimately, this is a terrible, distressing set of affairs just by the nature of it being what it is. Those statements were lukewarm and vague AF. Just crap all around.
Whatever happens from here, I wonder if they’ll last another year after this? I know bands/artists have had releases shelved for “less” and have survived “worse,” so it’s kinda up in the air for me.

If truth doesn’t matter, I’ll remember what to do If I want to break someone career. Because it will impact their career in some way, and as you said : " I wonder if they’ll last another year after this? "

I don’t think there’s much else to say at this point. Band wants to move past it so as fans we aren’t getting the details we need to make a better judgement. Support them or don’t, that’s up to you. If any new developments surface, then put them in a new thread.

this is the only band whose downfall i’m actively rooting for, idk how you can do all that to someone and just go back to singing songs like it’s nbd
i mean last i heard them the audio content of their songs sounded nice, and i had good memories of listening to their old music, but that’s just toooooo much cognitive dissonance for me to get thru.

it is so fucking insane, that you somehow can continue a music group where usually the main selling point is being a attractive person to become womens crush, while being a rapist…
like I don’t remember that when the thing happened that there was any prove that it did not happen, even moreso Kuruto even appologised to Shohei which basically is him admiting that he sexually assaulted his girlfriend.
this band became a dumpster fire rip

I’m fairly certain this one is true. There were message logs of the bassist begging his girlfriend to not make a fuss about the incident “because I might get fired”. There was camera footage of the guitarist getting her to down multiple drinks.
And when public pressure was on the band…they said that they would make an announcement…only for it to be an album promo. They strategically changed their name styling to include an Ω at the end shortly after.

What a fucking mess
They made a statement a few months later, saying that the Tokyo police decided not to charge him, they make it like it was being unjustly accused. But everyone knows how hard it is to prosecute sexual offenders in Japan so it proves nothing.
