At the live today Gara said that the Last Scene concept was his own mortality. The last scene is what he sees on his deathbed and what kind of life he led up to that point.
If it’s any consolation, Yuu said ‘Merry is 23 now! We’ll keep going until Merry is 30!’ as they were leaving the stage.
That name for the album also scares me but at this point it wouldnt really surpise me, it just feels like they keep getting “smaller & smaller”. That also looks like a very short tour for the album…
a lot of bands love to use AI vomit for flyers now in all various kinds of popularities.
I suppose the idea is charming, that you like this can use constantly new imagery without having to worry about your budget. (and different to like your actual music releases your flyers get forgotten in under a year with a complete lack of relevance)
but the bad taste of acid and oil stays in the mouth.
Free-Will has been especially bad with the AI thing recently. It’s all over their flyers and the backdrop videos they play at shows is mostly AI generated now. Especially for Kizu. (I don’t go to DeG, so idk about them but it was really bad during Androgynos.) It’s awful and distracting. How hard can it be to go buy a stock photo online? Or, in the case of this Last Scene flyer - just fix the AI slop “seats” in the middle?
What would you say is free will"s worst example of AI vomit so far?
Also about Merry “getting smaller and smaller”, I feel they are like going minus on making music currently, or the last say 5 years Their peak was sick but I feel they don’t have long left, sadly.
I went to see Kizu at Bug Summit in August. I think they played 4 or 5 songs and out of all of them, only 1 had their PV up in the background. The rest were all AI generated videos, like they’d have these random swirly monster eye things moving in the background. And it was totally unnecessary too, because none of the other bands before that even had videos playing behind the stage.
Androgynos was really bad for DeG’s set. Once the opening SE started playing, they had this gross AI generated video of a tree with baby heads dangling from it, and then it kept morphing into different things.
Yoyogi’s a huge stadium, so most of us in the back can barely even see the stage, but instead of using real-time footage on the big main screen so that we could see what the members were even doing, they had all this AI garbage up, and the images were morphing in that annoying AI way. It took all the focus off the two smaller screens on the sides, which were the ones with real-time footage of the members. That continued for most of the DeG set.
it’s the thing with slop, there’s no way to fix it quickly. there’s no automatic clean-up etc because it does not know what it renders and how to put things into proper perspective (some models are a bit better, but they all produce recognizable issues, and they all tend to drop the quality down over time for whatever reason)
lmao I can’t stop thinking it’s another tax dodge from papa tommii or something like ffs they can hire proper people
I hope they get better promotion, but tbh it feels like they’re only staying in the business for the music, and some occassional Dréss.
they landed an anime tie-in not so long ago, and I’d guess most of musicians on a major contract ghost-write on the side to make ends meet.
As always, cautiously looking forward to it. The previous live-only single was great and the latest one seems decent from the preview too, hoping those two make their way onto the album too somehow.
I prefer a band that takes time to do a release and do it good. Rather than a band who try hard to keep their 1 album a year (Angelo etc.) with questionable result.
Both the album name and its first single name sound like a bad omen to me too Let’s just hope it is nothing to worry about… bonus points if the album turns out to be a banger too
Agree, this doesn’t sound great… But if The GazettE’s last song is quite literally titled LAST SONG and a band member dies in the process of their next album, and they STILL want to keep going… I wouldn’t read to much into it in this scene.
