Yesterday (2023/12/15) was the band’s 16th anniversary.
Anyone else going to watch the livestream tomorrow? Tickets are available on Zaiko
Just finished watching, man I don’t know what to say
I kinda hope Mahiro will actually go on hiatus now, and take care of his health.
Although I am looking forward to seeing what the other members will do in the future
If they actually “stop” was not said iirc

Never heard of this song !!
me neither! I couldn’t find it anywhere except for a previous live dvd according to vk.gy so I guess it’s a live only song?
Hope someone recorded it
Yes, they started playing in commemoration of their 16th Anniversary.
Btw the concert was good, happy to see the 5 together again, but Mahiro was clearly not doing well. He stopped singing to vomit for a few times. Worried about him.
poor Mahiro I just wanna hug him.
this comment’s been haunting me since i read it, esp with Sakurai this year…
has anyone heard if it was like a momentary incidental kinda illness he wanted to push thru to not miss the date? Or something to do with a worsening of his overall condition? Last i heard, i thought it was just his eyes’ light sensitivity…
I want to say something like he should rest or relax, but also i literally can’t imagine being one of the most skilled vocalists of your generation, songwriting on the seventh album still fresh and inspired - and having all that ripped away before 40 by something as inarguable as your body giving out
His personal hiatus reason is not due to the eyes - once he already sing without 100% of his vision. It’s announced that is because of his mental condition… He got a severe depression.
I can imagine the condition of his eye and nose are too much for him… Before concluding the last nose plastic surgery he said many times that being in front of people is a struggle for him, so I imagine he developed a social phobia or something like that…? And singing in front of so many people (even though he doesn’t see them) makes him nervous and gives him nausea. But that’s just my guess.
Called it back in October 2022 that he was covering it up with “just about anything” since 2020.
The new nose just doesn’t fit his face…
Ah, Mahiro, such a sad thing to see one of the most handsome and most talented vkei singers in this state…I hope he makes the most out of the hiatus, as he has both mental and physical issues to deal with…
end of year stress + mental issue and medication side-effects could result in the puking thing.
I hope it’s a temporary thing and not something more chronic.
he’s already been through a lot, even given that they’re literal over-achievers as far as a VK project can go.
Did someone record it?
I was in attendance at this year’s anniversary concert too. It was SUPER SUPER SUPER packed, like the staff had to push the doors to the standing room floor shut because there were so many of us.
I haven’t heard anything about Mahiro’s trouble singing being related to vomiting or nausea though. I know that long concerts take a toll on his voice and he struggles through longer stretches of singing without MC breaks, but nowhere have I seen mentions of it being related to vomiting as opposed to being a sore throat/being out of breath/not having the strength to pull out that crazy Mahiro voice.
At the end of the show, they put up little goodbye messages from everyone up on the screens that we were permitted to take pictures of.
You can see that on the live stream, a staff comes to place a bucket so he can puke and the camera goes out of him, my friend who was there closer to the stage saw that + plus lots of people commenting that on Tanuki thread.
Glad you could be there!!!
Oh gosh that’s awful…I was squished way in the back so I couldn’t see the stage too well most of the time anyway
But there’s nothing like being there in person <3 So lucky of you!!!
This picture is basically like every gig these days… haha.
