[Ayabie Disbandment Announcement]
We sincerely appreciate your continued support for Ayabie.
We would like to inform you that with the “Goken no Wasureyuki” tour, which will be held in April in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, Ayabie will officially end its activities as a band and disband.
Last year, as we celebrated the 20th anniversary of our formation, each member took the time to reflect on what Ayabie means to us. Over time, we strongly felt that we had accomplished everything we wanted to do as a band without any regrets. Respecting each other’s different visions for the future, we have reached this decision.
We deeply apologize to those who were waiting for our return and could not meet your expectations.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the fans and those involved who have supported us over the years. We would also be incredibly grateful if you continue to support each member’s individual path in the future.
It pains us to deliver this news through a written statement, but we sincerely ask for your understanding.
Thank you for supporting Ayabie for the past 21 years.
All the members of Ayabie look forward to seeing you at our final tour.

Also, used to be a fan when they formed. They were gonna be something special, for sure. 20 years is too long for them like this.

Oh they’re still around, low-key thought they disbanded and only remembered they existed because a Mexican soap opera had a poster of them in an episode

Sad news but I guess it’s been on the cards for a while. At least they came back and gave us that last album. Aoi is still one of my faves and I hope this means he does more stuff with 168. Want to hear a full album from them.

Okay, so how many times have they disbanded now?
I literally made an account here to say this, rofl. I already grieved them during their 2010 hiatus, things already seemed dire for them back then. Shocked they got back together but totally unsurprising that they’re disbanding again. I was obsessed with them in the late-2000s, even got to see them live in LA, so I do still have a nostalgic soft spot for them.
They still have time for at least one more name change!! Have they done “aYaBiE” yet?

I never got why their name was Ayabieru in Japanese, but Ayabie in romaji. Does anyone know?
