水野 由結 (Yui Mizuno) (ex.BABYMETAL) has retired

idol singer 水野 由結 (Yui Mizuno), best known as YUIMETAL from BABYMETAL, has retired from the entertainment industry, per her agency Amuse.

Yui got her start at the agency as a member of the kids idol unit, さくら学院 (Sakura Gakuin) at the age of 11, and she would later join the metal themed unit BABYMETAL shortly after, remaining a member until 2018.

It just struck me now how young she was when she got started! I’d retire too! Thanks for all the music.

How so? I honestly know nothing about the band but am curious why someone so young would be looking to quit the industry now.

She left Babymetal in 2017 for a bunch of reasons but mainly due health issues that made her miss almost an year of tour. After leaving the group the news about her were none to radio-silent. She probably retired long ago, but never announced it for legal and contractual reasons

Better quit this when you are young and have much more better opportunities than being an aging idol. It’s hard and exhausting, she deserves better than that.

Are idols still not even allowed to date? Im a bit out of touch with mainstream Japanese media these days but always thought that was pretty weird.
