Dr.犬神 明 (inugami akira) has confirmed that the tracks “犬神サアカス” (inugami circus) and “闇のサアカス” (yami no circus) (from their previous single) has AI-generated lyrics but claims it was done under the conditions that the lyrics should “sound like [the band]” and edits were made to the final version. The band also maintains that it was not done to reduce the work of actual songwriting by using AI, but it was done to parody themselves, and was also used as an experiment to the public on whether or not to use AI in the future.

It’s like when you insult someone “as a joke”, but if they react badly “it was just a joke, bro!” You do the thing that you know is bad but with 0 accountability.
The parody excuse could sort of work if it was only 1 song, 2 are the start of an habit. How much lazy you must be to use ai even for lyrics?

why bother editing the GPT lyrics then?
I get that they must be bored to death with what they’re doing, and there’s probably not much for them to get successful at at this age and this time, but this is so cringe, and things like kpop artists writing their english lyrics with ai don’t excuse this tbh
