This band totally flew under the radar for me, but accidentally saw one of their videos pop up on YouTube the other day and it was really good.
I heard that the vocalist looks like this because he’s hiding his identity from another act (apparently he’s famous?).
No idea if that’s true but they seem pretty interesting!
Yeah, Mikoto is the current vocalist for WANDS. I don’t know if he’s hiding his identity, really, since he had this same look since Zigzag started and before he joined WANDS, and since his voice sounds the same in both projects, but he also might do it for general anonymity when in public.
Ah, ok. Interesting. Thanks for clarifying! Going to dig deeper into their discography. Seems like a pretty cool project.

I can’t comment on the quality of the releases, but:
They’ve been performing at huge places - the next Osaka stop for example is Osaka-Jo Hall, 16,000 cap, which versus the tiny livehouses they used to perform in (they had 2mans with Dadaroma back in the day) is, to me, quite a huge jump. I was shocked to see them perform in arenas and festivals too; few vkei bands reach places with such capacities, within a decade too.
But yeah as to have they since went stale, I feel like demand for them has always been there steadily enough for them to do these venues. But if the hiatus is for them to regroup and think about what’s next for them that’s ok since it’s been 10 years and they’ve had an incredible run with these results, i’d like to think there’s little room for regret
