Renowned producer Shintarō Kikuchi, known for his work with Acid Black Cherry, recently announced the creation of his own music label, “LtOVES” (Eltoves). As the first step in this new venture, it has been confirmed that Acid Black Cherry will be the label’s very first artist.
To celebrate this milestone, all 11 albums released by Acid Black Cherry to date have been made available on various digital music platforms, allowing fans worldwide to enjoy the band’s full catalog.
Notably, the original albums “BLACK LIST”, “Q.E.D.”, “2012”, and “L -エル-” have been newly mixed and remastered, offering a refreshed listening experience. Additionally, the popular cover albums “Recreation 1” and “Recreation 2” not only feature new mixes and remastering but also include a special treat: each album now features an additional track. These tracks are newly arranged and re-recorded versions of songs previously covered in a tribute album.
as this announcement was made on his 50th birthday, yasu has released a statement; he’s not sure when he will return, but he reassures the fans that he’s grateful for them and is recovering steadily
Sweet! avex has (had?) a habit of kind of over-polishing and going heavy on the compression, making things sound too ‘cramped’ on their releases, so these remasters almost have to be a glow up on that front. Curious on how the new mix will change things up, too.
And really glad to hear that yasu is doing okay and still hoping to return. Feels like it’s been ages since we last heard from him. Had the flu recently and this is a boost of energy for me
EDIT: Looks like there are a few other changes/differences not mentioned in the OP – “Jigsaw” on Q.E.D. has been switched to the Japanese ver. instead of the English one, and 『2012 』is newly mastered in full, but only “Re:birth” has been re-mixed for that album? Also seems like there may be a physical release for these in the future, which may explain why they haven’t put lossless up for these.
it’s actually called “Acid Black Cherry Live Acoustic Album ~君がいるから~” and it is a live acoustic album from ABC’s past lives and it will be released on 3/26

He still has a long road to recovery, so lets hope this is him testing the waters. I would love to see him touring with Kiyo, Shuji, and You on their little celebration of JDA tunes.
Silly question but I’m not fully up to date with the Yasu lore. The only reason he retired was because of his spinal problems right ? Or does he also have vocal problems
You can preorder it at CDJapan only 1000yen, so the shipping cost for it felt like a crime. Not sure if I’ll get the remasters, as I’ve the old ones. But we’ll see
