Bandmember that got into trouble with the law

The law in some countries (I would assume Japan as well) is that upon finding a lost item, the correct course of action is to hand it to the police if it has no identification inside. Otherwise any thief could claim that “they were planning to return it but I didn’t know whose it was eheheheh”. People who lose things can report them to police. If the item remains unclaimed for a certain period, the finder is allowed to claim the item then. Boom, finders keepers LEGALLY.

Ah, okay. Yeah even in America it appears to differ by state, California has a law against it, but say Ohio has no long about lost property, pretty interesting that it appears all of Japan has one law as opposed to say laws by city or prefecture.

To this day I’m still upset about that. Larcs old drummer (Sakura) was a beast and really gave a lot of the aggression to their early work! Their current drummer Yukihiro is of course a big influence on the current sound but you can definitely hear the difference.

It’s ancient history by now, but Wataru, vocalist of 12012 was arrested for assault (attempted strangulation of woman he was friends with during drunk argument).

And it wasn’t even the first time he got into trouble with the law, because a few years earlier he was caught for possession of a weapon on the airport. (Bonus trivia, the band’s very name 12012 comes from the US California penal code for the possession of a dangerous weapon

That part is new to me.
 Interesting
Looks like wataru was more trouble than i thought

Wasn’t Gackt also accused of sexual harassment of a hostess? I don’t know if the case ever involved police to begin with but I am very sure I read more than one article about the allegations.

I think our way of doing things in the USA, of letting states create most of their own laws other than what the federal level decides on, is pretty abnormal compared to most of the world. I could be very wrong on that though lol

Hello everyone . Mods can move this a related topic if it doesn’t belong here if needed since i was unable to find a specific topic for this story however this is the most related one i can find.

Visual kei Flashback Story: KLACK

As a disclaimer, i do not condone the events or actions of the band nor do i recommend it. If you find media such as: Live performances, PV’s or music, it is of your own choice to consume it, since it contains controversial topics im not allowed to post on here.

So i just recently found out about this piece of information, now years later. Not sure if everyone knows about all the details on this story so i figured to share it.

I wanted to speak about the Loud-kei band known as KLACK. For those who don’t know this band, they were a Loud kei band that formed in 2003 under 4 members (at the time). The band played melodic punk and would gain a decently sized following by 2004. Within that same year, they released the single INTIFADA 2004 which spoke about controversial topics at the time. Along with this they also their first PV DVD that also contained controversial footage during their trip to North Korea which is where it was filmed. Upon release of this film, it was received negatively by various bands and fans at the time for various reasons. However for some it would spark huge popularity for a short period. It also got a lot of attention within the Indie scene and pubic. Thier single would eventually chart number 1 on the Shindo Indies chart and number 11 on the Oricon indies chart around the time of its release. However this would inevitably start drama in the Visual kei scene.

This eventually led an incident that occurred in 2004 at Beauti-fool’s fest 04 hosted by Fool’s Mate where bands: SID, KLACK, MUCC and The Gazette played. This was a large scale live with over 5000 people. When it was KLACK’s turn to play, during the performance, disturbing footage was displayed which caused the wide spread panic, crying, and emotional tension. Some people even collapsed in convulsions during their set. Some fans opted to briefly leave the venue until the next band came on stage. It was also reported that women and children were also present during this live event.

When KLACK’s turn was finished it was the gazettes turn to play. Before they got on set however it was reported that vocalist Ruki from The Gazette punched the lead singer of KLACK in the face which started a fight. (Details aren’t as clear but with people already in a state of panic i assume authorities got involved during the whole indecent.)

After the incident the event organizers TBS and FOOLS MATE issued a public apology for the whole thing. However KLACK, the band responsible, never issued an apology at all. In fact someone who was related to the band posted about it claiming that the pubic panic wasn’t their fault and they saw no issue with their actions. This led to a HUGE amounts of pubic criticism and some people even managed to forcefully take their official home page down for several months. The band would surprisingly continue activities and i assume nothing stopped them from playing future lives. This event most likely delayed them from performing live again in 2005.

Fast forward to 2007, a person with the nickname Yakitori on KLACK’s official BBS forums repeatedly posted death threats to the band stating that he would murder all the KLACK members during their next live performance. Some who saw this post reported it to the police and on the day of the gig the security of the venue was taken over by the police and also temporarily was in charge of the venues activity at the time.

As a result of this incident, the band would eventually disband in 2008. While their concept may have been accepted by a certain portion of the Vkei fan base it was rejected by most fans which ultimately led to their disbandment in October 2008. Their disbandment was caused by the incident in 2007 and the other members would eventually go on to other bands and projects.

Im aware that some bands try to make themselves stand out by doing bad things or impose bad content to shock audiences. This oddly worked temporarily for some reason. Not sure if other bands have done similar practices to gain popularity but its such a strange and bad concept.

I’m surprised that they managed to go film in North Korea. I assume that the backlash may have been due to them assuming that the band was supporting NK (seeing as how North Korea usually has strict guidelines as to what is allowed to be filmed vs not?)

Legendary story. Would you want to be down to throw down some spot where you got your sources? This tale has amused me for DECADES now.

I hadn’t heard of this band before, so I looked it up.

JP Wiki page has a little more info

KLACK were terrible people lol I believe their vocalist is still active too. Looks like he covered Machine a few years ago with a new band.

Maybe I am too naive or the exact opposite but I can’t really imagine what they showed, that caused a panic? was it snuff material or porn or something else?

Is there any evidence of Ruki face punshing the KLACK guy?

Nevermind…. I read the Wikipedia article…. Yeah that’s fucked up and I hope Ruki did punsh him….

I was too naive… dark themes and visual shock is all good and well but what they did crossed a line.

Didn’t expect Ruki to be so badass. I always tot that he was the most gentle among other members

I gained some respect for Ruki today.

Considering women and children were present at the time. Yea…

I can agree that it’s worth because of the children but for adults I don’t think the gender makes a diffrence. This would be wrong even if there were only men in the audience.

This incident killed Beauti-fool’s fest and also resulted in the event not being showed on TV, unlike the previous year’s.
