I know Ruki from the Gazette use to be a roadie for DEG but I wonder if theirs anyone else who is in a band (or was) that was once roadies for other band(s)?

Nearly every singer was a roadie it seems, roadie’s aren’t that common as much as they were in the 90s but yeah.

Sui and Kuzuki (both from Metis Gretel) were roadies for Mercuro, blows my mind

iirc Mercuro’s bassist was a Missalina Rei roadie.
I’m 99% sure that Ruki has never been a roadie for Dir en grey. Where did you hear this? :o
rei from sibilebashir was a roadie for Dir en grey, by the way. He’s now working as one of their managers.

Last year, we got to know a few visual kei band roadies. They apparently worked for free to get experience which they later use to improve their own band. How was it for you when you first started out?
Ruki: None of us have experienced being a roadie for another band. From the beginning, we were a professional band. The meaning for “roadie” in Japan has a different meaning compared to here. In the west, they are seen as professionals and highly skilled musicians in guitars, drums, bass, keyboard, and whatnot, whereas in Japan, it’s a “runner” or personal assistant type of role so that’s why they’re not really getting paid. They can actually see what’s going on backstage, that is the reward. The experience is the payment, as well as making connections.
A simple google search debunked that nonsense.

Just to add, Shuuji (cali gari) was also a roadie for Malice Mizer. So in Deep Sanctuary 9, all 3 guest vocalists were former roadies, which was neat

I only know that Bebikin used to open for BPR bands for a bit before they were announced as a new band under the label
By the way, Lareine’s Akira was a roadie for GOSICK as well, along with Toshiya.
