Bands you never thought you would like as much as you do now

for me, definitely golden bomber.
I saw their halloween Hello Kitty donut ad and thought they were so funny and cool, and definitely had the hots for kenji (still do), but didnt like their music, so i thought that would be as far as my interest in them would go.
turns out i was just listening to the wrong songs lolol im now a golden bomber LOVERRR

I personally have had “Kono sekai wa owari da” stuck in my head for three days straight
“RIGHT EVIL” is also fun if you want to bounce along
“Kuro to Aka” was one of the first I got into

But I’ve only listened to the MV songs via YouTube to get into them, I still need to try the B-sides

At first I wasn’t too interested in D.I.D. and heavily preferred Sho’s vocals (Dimlim) over Akane’s, but now it’s the complete opposite and D.I.D. has become my favorite band of all time.

I used to hate ARLEQUIN and キズ and that changed over time.

This was early on, when I discovered the world of Japanese Rock. The band that got me into the whole thing was Unluckly Morpheus, and through them I discovered 妖精帝國 (Yousei Teikoku). At first, I really didn’t like the vocals in YT, but later I fell in love with it. Now I think Yui is a great singer and they’re one of my favorite bands.

Dexcore. thought they were just as generic as post-Cazqui Nokubura. but turns out they were better than i was originally thought.

Start with their compilation album “Worst” . They re-recorded some old stuff while also giving you a feel for the bands new stuff a bit.

NICOLAS. I listened to their single ‘Delighted’ when it came out and loved it, then listened to a couple songs from their UMBRA album and enjoyed them but never looked further into them. I eventually decided to check out a couple PVs, decided they were generic af and forgot about them for a couple years. Come this year with the release of ‘残歌’ and they’ve become one of my favourite bands, with their songs on constant rotation.

sorry this is a long one but this is after my era where all i listened to was malice mizer so i didn’t like
Versailles-(masquerade) I was too used to lariene Kamijo
Raphael-(evergreen) yuki’s voice surprised me
DazzlingBad-(vertigo) ai’s voice also surprised me
Dir en grey-(cage) don’t ask, there was something wrong with me
Ashmaze.-(Kyozetsu to jyuyou) souma’s voice was unexpected but Saito drew me back in

The gallo ONLY because I was bothered by their album cover for Diavolo and also, every from B.P Records, but their pvs and stuff were appealing but it took some getting used to for most songs.

Once upon a time I thought Laputa’s last good album was EMADARA, but it turns out I’m just an idiot sometimes. Now, I don’t think their discography is flawless, but I think their longevity is pretty underrated. They were still releasing banger EPs in 2003, and the full-lengths through Cakera are all stellar. I really appreciate them as a VK band that didn’t absolutely tank in quality and/or implode way too soon. They kind of reached their natural conclusion and petered out. Now that I have a better idea of their career and discography as a whole, they’re definitely one of my favorite VK bands.

This is difficult, probably Crazy★shampoo, Lustknot, Delacroix, Gaga, mama., Honmono, Ran, Zera, XodiacK, Vrzel, The Piass, Avanchick, and Kiryu.
