Looking to pick up bass again and keep at it properly this time - any suggestions?
I would suggest Buck Tick - Kuchizuke. A very simple bassline and a great exercise for the picking hand.

hey i want to ask this same question too!
i’m a little bit good at bass, not super new to the instrument, but i have no idea how to write for it.
Any recommendations on tracks, doesn’t matter if they’re easy or hard to learn, that give a good example what vkei basslines sound like? i’m esp interested in anything from the 90s to mid 2000s

Here’s a few I play when I want to get Vkei funky.
And if you have to just focus on one, go for Sandy Time, it’s a pretty fun song to play on bass.
