Just wondering which live, visual releases people here really consider their very favourites. My top 3 in no particular order would be:

Kizu - 4th Oneman Sayonara, Zepp Tokyo
The Gazette - Abyss
Dir en Grey - Arche Live at Budokan (1st Disc)

For me these are based on how interesting they are to actually watch as well as a top setlist. For me personally, a strong visual, so lighting, outfits, intense performances and the background videos and such can really set the mood so wondering which other live releases other people here really enjoy and would recommend. :slight_smile:

This just has a very special place in my heart because I love Despa and I have watched this DVD many times with my best friend

I just don’t return to live performances from other performers the same way so none are favorites.

  • BUCK-TICK - 悪魔とフロイト -Devil and Freud- Climax Together (2004): I could have easily said 2-3 other lives of theirs, but this one will remain my favorite due to the variety in the setlist, awesome lighting and effortlessly cool performance. Also my first Japanese live DVD, so it has sentimental value.
  • MERRY - BURST EPDVD/Live at 新宿ロフト (2009): The rawest, most energetic, chaotic and intimate MERRY live ever put to disc imo. No backing tracks, stripped-down noisy sound, the band and the crowd is going all in, punk as fuck.

In no particular order:

  • MUCC ‎– Live Chronicle: especially Kuchiki no Tou, so much emotion and raw talent.
  • Develop One’s Faculties - Vol.2「Jouryokuju-ever green-」: this band were just very technically good and played great music, RIP
  • DIAURA - Dictatorial Garden Nakano-beyond the resistance- Yoka’s voice is godly and this is their best DVD in my opinion
  • 己龍 - 「百鬼夜行」 己龍単独巡業~千秋楽~ 二〇一六年八月二十九日 日本武道館 ~単独公演四〇〇回記念~
  • Dir en Grey - Blitz 5 Days
  • Rentrer en Soi’s last live DVD
