Thoughts on the full album? I love the song selection but I ain’t 100% on every single new take but all of them are nice to listen to.
Haven’t heard it yet, the Garist secondhand economy spiraled out of control for the 30th anniversary goods. I only managed to get the deluxe version of 30 within my budget just the other day, so I’ve still got a few weeks before I hear it probably lol.
Was hoping the standard would be on streaming. Not this time I guess! 17.5 getting a streaming release and not this is weird.
I really wanted the one with the cool sleeve but it was too crazy price wise. I was happy just keeping the regular.
Yeah, it got really ridiculous. I was going to wait - or even just skip it and get the retail version - but I was able to get the Fanatic Edition with the 0 Bonus Disc as well, which I begrudgingly needed since I try to have every one of their original studio songs. It was still a pretty bad price, but it averaged out to the point I could swallow it.
It’s funny, 30 ended up being the 30th anniversary release I cared about the least after the Wrestling Blu-ray and 0 releases were revealed - but, still managed to get it. This has easily been the most annoying & costly release cycle for them since I became a fan 4 or 5 years ago.
Really hoping this isn’t a trend going forward! They’ve always been an annoying band to keep up with financially, but this was kind of terrible. Crossing my fingers they just wanted to capitalize on the anniversary.
Is 0 the same 0 they did in 2019 or is it a dvd version?
0 is a new DVD, and there’s also a new old song single (Moonrise Silhouette, which Ao wrote as a teen and was recorded under the title 壊れた影絵 on his CD of cali gari ja nai ja nai)

Yeah it’s essentially 0 2, except now it’s just a live release instead of an EP. Old songs on the setlist, but it’s not a bunch of fresh self-covers like the original 0. Info here:
I didn’t post about it because I didn’t even know about it until an Ao tweet that was posted way after the initial announcement. They’ve done way too much for the anniversary lol
30 appeared on various Western sources yesterday, so it’s hit the fandom; this triggered me so hard that I intend to burn down the Cali Gari exclusivity/trading economy at some point this year, but that’s a discussion for another day.
I’ve listened now & it’s p good. Making 187 five minutes long is very dumb and funny. I love the reinterpretations of the 6 and 8 material, and what they did with School Zone is really cool. It’s nice that their self-covers pay respect to the originals while really giving them a modern 2025 Cali Gari sound. Really like the character the synths have on here. Nothing world-shaking, but a good release.

Eh the band always sell their live limited merch/CD/DVDs once their tour ends on their online shop for 3 days so 30 and 0 blu-ray should be available once the 14th & 15th Mar 「30=6＋7＋8＋9」concert is done.
speaking of ‘annoying band to keep up with financially’, attending their 9110 yen concert on 11th Sep provides you a link to download song performances from that day. The higher than usual price seems to be for the uploaded songs and keeping up with the ‘911’ theme? But their ticket prices for previous concerts with free CDs given are within 7000 yen so idw
I’ve never managed to figure out a proxy that gets along with their online store. Also I’d kill to see them for 9110¥, especially if free downloads were involved lol.

What was the issue cited by your proxy? My friend created a free account there and has been purchasing on my behalf with no issues thus far.
Going back to the ‘30’ release, ‘school zone’ wasn’t better than the original and surprise surprise, the original version was played in the recently concluded osaka gigs. ‘tou’ was a banger though.
And if I got it correctly in one of the twitter announcements, the ‘present’ that you’ll get for submitting all the obi of the video releases is… drumroll a CD version of all the video releases.
It was years ago at this point, I don’t even remember. Glad it’s working out for you. Maybe I’ll try it again on a different proxy, but in the end I’m paying prices that are at least comparable to the list prices. They make following them more difficult than it needs to be, and fans in the community only want to help you out if they’re getting something back from you. I would rather the money go to the guys in the band, but they don’t make it easy.

Why is there a mad rush among fans to get the 狂信盤 though? You can get a higher resolution version of the PV from youtube and the songs on the extra disc has floating on the net for years and there was a mercari seller selling the new version of “ママが僕を捨ててパパが僕をおか” (you don’t get the postcard that comes with the QR card to download the song; she will just email you the song) for 1500 yen for a while. Yes, I was monitoring mercari alot then hahaha
Forgive me for not keeping up with every 5-paragraph Twitter post they make lmao. What’s more, it seems conditional that the new pressing will only occur if they sell out. That’s not a guarantee.
We can excuse the band all we want, but this is the reality of distributing most of your releases exclusively at live events. There’s FOMO, there isn’t a guarantee you will receive the goods if you don’t act. That’s a huge part of the business model of live-exclusive goods, this is a sensible consequence.

Somebody selling the digital file through Mercari is wild. For me getting the bonus disc was pretty much equivalent to buying retail 30+the singles I was missing. If they’re “floating on the net” they’re either not lossless, or people aren’t sharing them with me lol.
What I meant was getting the normal version is sufficient cos the fans would have all the bonus songs listed by now. But ya, a flac version of “ママが僕を捨ててパパが僕をおか” might do the deal for some.
In 2021, I bought the postcard for 2000 yen and my friend sent me the QR code to download the song. I was ‘…’ when i realized its a 192kbp MP3 wtf AO! When I saw “ママが僕を捨ててパパが僕をおか” being listed as one of the bonus songs, I was thinking is it upscaled from the original 192kbp version hahahaha. Oh yeah, speaking of which, in the 2 different phamplets sold in hector’s 1st 2 gigs, there is a QR code in each that allows you to download 4 demo songs in total. I bought the phamplets from a mercari seller that states she will email the songs; she knows what she is REALLY selling 
But yeah, its quite exhausting following them as a fan. Monitoring their twitter is essential to catching some important announcements that once you miss it, that media you will die for is gone. For example, Ao doing a livestream of cover songs on bitfan (japanese version of onlyfans…) that is only up for 7 days:

Oh yeah, that’s totally fair then. I generally agree that 30 w/ Bonus Disc wouldn’t be worth it for most people who follow the band, but for my purposes I was going to end up spending about the same if I got that or retail 30 w/ secondhand versions of the two singles I’m missing. My copy of 30 was also bundled with the 0 Bonus Disc so that helped.
I’m really happy that it seems like Ao has recently learned at least something about digital quality!!! The 2021 live release had the entire DVD set in audio form on a data CD, and those were at least 320kbps. I was so scared they’d be 192kbps given Ao’s history lmao.
In the past I’ve been pretty good about following Ao on Twitter, I’ve just hated going on that site lately. I should just make his Twitter my homepage or something, would make my life easier.
also of course Ao is putting live recordings on Japanese Onlyfans. He’s such a hero & an inspiration.
I reckon the package you bought comes with the 0 blu ray? I’m waiting to buy that with the wrestling Blu-ray when the online shop is up. Still on the fence for 30 to get the 0 CD.
I got this stuff in three packages actually - I was able to get the Wrestling and 0 BRs on their own for their list prices between two listings; then after admitting defeat on 30 I found a listing that bundled 30 and the 0 bonus disc at around the right price for me, so it just worked out for me. I had settled on just getting the retail by that point, but it ended up working out.
I will try their website again sometime soon though! I really would prefer Ao & Friends get the money instead of Mercari Seller X
Wow, lucky! 0 CD is always bundled with the 0 blu ray or sold separately for stupid prices from what I observe in mercari.
For the online shop, do remember it only opens for around 5 days right after a tour or individually themed concert ends to get rid of unsold merch. I was travelling and forgot to check when tour 17 ended and missed out on the wrestling blu-ray. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise since I will save on shipping fees when I’m buying with 0 blu ray after 30 tour haha
