Completely Standard Introduction

Hey everyone, long time lurker first time poster etc etc, excited to chat about music with people!

I’ve been a visual kei fan for a more than a decade now, and I’m returning to or after a bit of a hiatus from the scene due to bands I love breaking up (… or changing genre :smiling_face_with_tear: RIP DIMLIM) and breaking my heart. It’s been a few years since I’ve listened to any new music coming from the scene, if anyone has recommendations I would love to hear them!

A little about me, I’m 28, from New Zealand/Aotearoa and uhh what else… oh yeah, in 2018 when I was diagnosed with a terminal illness (a misdiagnosis! Yay! I’m still alive :joy:) my first bucket list act was to go and see my then favourite band RAZOR in Japan at a 4 man live with Xaa-Xaa, DADAROMA and I genuinely forgot the other group whoops. But it was totally worth it!! RAZOR were incredible, mesmerising and unforgettable. RAZOR still have a really special place in my heart, even if they rarely live up to their musical potential - but I digress.

And as a bonus at that live I became a lifelong Xaa-Xaa fan. Those guys know how to raise the roof.

Highly reccomend doing the items on your bucket list even if you’re not dying, if they’re on there it means you’ll regret not having done them when your time is up! Go see that band, go travel to that country, go climb that mountain  Life advice from a total stranger.

That’s enough yapping from me, but if you’ve made it this far feel free to comment your favourite band from the last few years below and help grow my reccomended list :eyes:

Heeey and Welcome
Nice to have you here.

Holy moly, glad it was misdiagnosis and you found your way to us now.

Do you know Kizu already?

Ooh I listened to Kizu back in the day but haven’t caught up with their releases, time to do that :eyes: Thanks for the reminder!
