PK from Prompts will jump in for their japanese tour now.
Quite a shame to see them finally finding their sound again and now having to see John depart again. But, well, Parenthood is something that definitely should go first, so my respect there.

They will switch singers until they find a new permanent one.
For myself I never got into John as a new singer. I was a huge Crystal Lake fan until Ryo left and i kinda lost my interest after seeing them live with John. So I hope the new singer will spark my interest again. All the best for John anyways!

That means the new singer needs a VISA. That was my main concern.

I enjoyed The Weight Of Sound but unfortunately I, too, kinda fell off after Ryo left. 
Hopefully they’ll find a permanent singer eventually.

First i was not captivated by john either, however, for me the recently released album was a blast…i think the full lenght was one of the best metalalbums of 2026 so far! Most folks liked ryo better (me included), but the songwriting remained typically CL, thats why i did not drop them

I think it’s really commendable that he realized it wasn’t going to work and decided to prioritize his family. I can’t imagine that was an easy decision.

Hope Crystal lake will find a suitable replacement soon. The fact that they announced PK from PROMPTS as a fill in for the next couple of shows will be very interesting. Hope some live footage will surface

John Robert Centorrino’s exit from Crystal Lake may have had more behind it than the official statements let on. When the vocalist split with the Japanese metalcore band in March, both sides framed the move largely around Centorrino wanting to spend more time with his young child.
However, Centorrino has since posted new comments on his Facebook page suggesting that was only part of the story behind his departure.
This morning the former member shared the following via his Facebook:
Going to tell my Crystal Lake story because I think you all deserve to know the truth of who they really are. Gathering all the information to show the truth and not just talk it. Its time someone stood up to them. I will be that person. Be patient while I put this together.
Centorrino would follow up this statement with following comments underneath the FB post.
Yo let it be known that I really really really really really really don’t want to do this. Like at all. Just like when I left the band I didn’t want to do that. But sometimes people put you in a weird position.
In replying to a comments left under the post about, Centorrino added the following touching on him leaving to focus on parenthood:
you would have to focus on Parenthood too if the people you worked for weren’t paying you enough money to actually keep your lights on, missing your kid grow up. Borrowing money from your grandparents to pay bills. But Crystal Lake wants to tour 10 months out of the year. And then one person keeps all the money.
In response to another comment stating they were upset to hear Centorrino’s comments:
no one is happy in that band my guy. Not even the people that work for them like them. They just really believe in the cause and everyone’s hoping for that paycheck that’s never going to come because the one dude keeps all the money. In writing it says 50% of all of it to be exact.

Yeah I would be pretty sure on that.
I just wonder what causes him now to come out about it and why not earlier, but ok, sometimes people need time to process.

This is not surprising me at all. The departure of Ryo always left a bad taste in my mouth. I‘m really sure they kicked him out because of his mental problems and was not capable to tour as much as they wanted - in other words they lost money because of him. I‘m really curious about the tea which John will spill. It‘s such a shame, CL was such a beast when Ryo and Shinya were still in the band.

I thought this part is interesting to add. (The OP has his own band Cyclamen and has a company Realising Media where does bring bands to Japan)
Basically a lot goes down to, even if the money would be shared equally, it still would high likely not be enough to live from. So if YD is difficult to work with or not is just part of the deal.
And also no offense against John here but I am sure he must have signed a contract when entering the band. I am sure that contract must have stated how the money is getting distributed amongst the members.
