First, I didn’t know Cyclamen was still a thing lol. The last time I’ve heard a song from them was almost 15 years old (Never Ending Dream). Second, yeah, that’s a bit more complex than wanting to tour 300 days/years and one perso keeping the incomes (which is, as said, pretty common)
The costs of touring have skyrocketed since covid. It’s not something we, musicians, could have imagined or planed years after years. Second, the costs of living have followed as you all know. CL is a big machine, but not as big as they think they are/they would become by the time, and are now reaching a bar where they can’t except much more income from their situation. For sure, Ryo’s departure didn’t help.
That’s why many, many professional musiciens out there do have a side $$$ activity beside their band(s). You can’t tour 300 days/year for 20 or 25k of single incomes a year.
