DEXCORE

I thought his bitching on Twitter was a complete cringe fest. 20 people don’t show up out of 300? That’s nothing. There was a huge advisory for an earthquake this week, and it’s the summer holiday and people’s plans change. It’s not like this was even a free show, 300 people at 1,000 yen is $300,000 Yen which is what most venues that size cost to rent so it’s not like they really made a big loss out of it or anything especially when you count the fact that they’re charging for drinks too.

You can’t control what people do with their tickets and the fact that he thought that he had a right to just because this show was cheaper is just insane. Imagine someone from Amazon calling you up complaining that you bought something from them and aren’t using it and how dare you not be using it because when you bought it it was on sale and maybe other people would have liked to buy it instead of you? Pure insanity.

Kagami is a kind-hearted and caring person, and you can easily hurt those people’s feelings. He’s someone, who listens to their fans. Fans say, they want his glowing Dex shirt, he makes that happen. You’re complaining about something? He tries to find a solution.

It’s on us to respect his feelings too. Do we like it or not, we should do what he’s doing, deeply reflect on other people’s emotions and what they are going through. He’s also just a mere human with emotions, who needs to put his anger into thin air by crying out. He’s sorry he did it in such a harsh way, but calling him a bitch or his behaviour bitching, is just wrong. I doubt, people saying this are so morally better behaved.

He could say he doesn’t care about it, but he cares, because he is that kind of person.

It’s not like Dexcore can live from their musically work. Noone of us know what they have to do beside their band, to make such lives even possible for our enjoyment.

Mate, he’s a business person, and i’d understand his ire if it were 180 people not showing out of 300. However, 18 out of 300 aint a big deal and he is definitely not behaving reasonably.

There’s also the fact that depending on the venue, those remaining 18 people might not have even been able to fit comfortably. Some venues end up overstating their capacity and the concert environment suffers for it when it sells out.

The downside of lotteries is that some bangya are double dippers for their favourite bands, and will just use a burner account on Eplus, Lawson Ticket, Ticket Pia, etc to get two or more entries, even paying for more than one ticket just to be able to choose the one with the earlier call number.

At that point, it might just be simpler to sell most events as first come, first serve. First ticket bought is Ticket #1. That way, there is no incentive to play games by entering the lottery multiple times, or buying up multiple tickets to change your entry order.

Exceptions would be huge events that are likely to crash websites if everyone queues up at once.

But honestly sounds like selective kind-heartedness to suit his ideals because calling out those people that didn’t show up like that without even knowing their circumstances could very much hurt their feelings and make them feel terrible. Not everybody who has an emergency is in a situation to
check on Twitter to exchange their ticket. People have real lives and real problems. If I were a fan and got bitched out that way for not being able to use a ticket I bought and being expected to talk to strangers online and give them my personal info etc to send it to them, I’d never buy a ticket from them again.

It’s actually pretty classic narcissistic behavior to do something for someone and then complain when they don’t appreciate it or show you they appreciated as much as you think they should.

Exactly this, my friend. Well said.

A visual kei community I am part of has some bangya who claim to have been close (let’s put it this way) to Kagami. Their overall feedback is quite the opposite since 2018 — that he’s quite unpleasant and narcissistic. Plenty of stories of his interactions with band members as well.

I mean, as usual, take it with a grain of salt, but the girls are consistent with their feedback, circumstantial evidence points that they are correct — even his pathetic meltdown on Twitter which reeks of narcissism and childishness

This must be the most underwelming vk scandal ever. And we are already at the stage of giving mental diagnosis because someone complained on twitter.

Us fighting about this is definitively more pathetic than what Kagami did…

I don’t see anyone fighting. Everyone here agrees except one person and no one is being rude to them. His meltdown is def. worse than this thread.

I did not call him a narcissist, just said his behavior is narcissistic which it is. I have no idea if he is one or not but he sure is acting entitled and holier than thou. He’s also the one who spammed his own Twitter repeatedly and then insisted on making an Instagram live too validate himself two days later if anyone made it a scandal it’s him, nobody else.

After kisaki & arlequin it’s such a relief to hear about a scandal and it’s just this lol

Well welll x.com

It takes a lot of self-reflection in the current Internet era to admit a mistake, or regret phrasing something a certain way, or even just swallowing your ego and apologizing. Glad to see Kagami do this. I felt that his frustration was coming from good intentions mixed with some scene specific details I do not know about, and it got miscommunicated along the way.

I do not know the pressures DEXCORE face with staying active, filling venues, and connecting with fans, but does anyone remember the conditional disbandment phase visual kei bands were going through just a few years ago? The ‘x tickets have to be sold at this particular concert or we disband’ phenomena we all got tired of really quickly? We may all enjoy DEXCORE, but truthfully none of us know how close to that reality the band is. The popularity of a band on our forum does not reflect their popularity in reality. Maybe they had an agreement to sell a certain number of tickets and those 18 were really important. I’m too ignorant in Japanese live house culture to say.

Also, my phone really wants to call this band SEXCORE…

I dont know much about Kagami personally but the fact he moaned about a few people not turning up does go hand in hand with the claims of narcissism and childishness mentioned above. Like i said before, I know gig promoters, I play shows and it is NOT uncommon that people buy tickets and dont show. Like its been said, these are usually for legit reasons, and even if someone simply cant be arsed, you still got their money end of the day so whats the problem?? Haha.
