This so much… So many of fans are sick and lost in dimensions right now. I think it was Oberhausen live where things started getting hard for fans
Berlin was so so good!!! 2020 DIR live in Berlin was probably on of the best DIR live I attended but I think 2024 live was even better! Kyo really enjoyed splitting us into the wall of death. Glad they experienced different lives!!! Things like crowd surfing or wall of death are banned in Japan…
Went to both London gigs.
Both gigs were awesome, even if WtD was influenced too much by the hype.
Just the idea of them bringing older albums overseas seemed wild, but I’m oh so glad I took the chance to hear them both live.
Sound was nice, performance was nice, crowd was nice, setlists were nice…yeah, no complaints at all.
Because I like to obsess over stupid shit, I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time inspecting what I can of Kaoru’s live rig on the European tour, specifically his amps.
Tucked right behind Kaoru are – I think – 2 Marshall heads. Now, I’m not that familiar with Marshall amps, never really used them; but my guess – and someone may know better – is that is either a Marshall Plexi
Or a JMP 2203
Judging from the prominence of the white piping on the JMP, I would lean towards that; but again, I have no clue.
I didn’t pay attention to Die other than he’s using a 4x12 Rectifier cab.
iirc there were some here who wondered why they didn’t play Ware, yami tote… and Kodoku ni shisu, yue ni kodoku., right?
As it turns out, this was really due to those songs requiring a certain equipment they couldn’t bring overseas:
We also noticed a peculiar thing, about how you basically played all the songs off “Withering to death.” and “UROBOROS”, but left out one song from each album. Do you have a reason for this?
Basically, it’s because we couldn’t bring all the equipment we’d need to play those songs over here [laughs]. It’s also kind of difficult to recreate those songs live.
Personally, I like that we aren’t playing everything, because it leaves you wondering why and wanting for more [laughs].
Yeah I read that. The interview actually answered quite a few things id seen people ask about on here so it was pretty interesting. But yeah, it was much simpler than the theory some went for saying “oh yeah, they dont play that because it has a more Japanese appeal” such bs.
I don’t buy it either. They played Kodoku on their first (!!) ever Europe tour in 2005, on festivals in Europe in 2006 and at Family values tour in 2006 in the US. Unlikely they “could bring” equipment back then they couldn’t bring this time.
What is wrong with you people? Kaoru clearly stated the reason for this. Sorry to tell you but your far out baseless theories are simply wrong, I dont understand why some of you are trying to convince yourselves they missed out songs for other reasons (which most seem a bit dumb tbh…) when the answer has been given in black and white. There was no ambiguity about the response so can we just accept this as the reason and stop spouting nonsense?
Man, i just think it’s funny that people are up in arms about something like guitar gear.
Back on topic real quick: The Devil in Me is still an incredibly aimless song, and these re-takes still stink worse than wet dog. Why do these tracks sound like theyre being played with toy instruments?
