DIR EN GREY announces EUROPE TOUR24 FROM DEPRESSION TO ________ [mode of Withering to death. & UROBOROS]

There’s always a day between the cities and I’m pretty sure they put the Berlin gigs on the Easter weekend intentionally because in most parts of Germany Friday and Monday are national holidays, so people can travel there. So this probably wouldn’t have worked out otherwise?
But it would make more sense to make one gig with WtD and Uroboros then tbh.

Oberhausen and Ruhrpott has a big metal community and is pretty near center of NRW. 2020 we had FZW Dortmund (1400 capacity ) which wasn’t even sold out afair. Going for Turbinenhalle with 3000 capacity seems like they are expecting to cover whole of NRW and west germany with this one date.

Plus, I guess, they needed to attract NL and BE fans without actually having a show in those countries.

Honestly I think they picked just the right dates, places and venues. If any vk band wants to come here, this is the scope they’ll have to settle with.

All that is left is the pricing, and although I live in Warsaw, the Polish crowd is passive and awful (in 2018 there was an extremely mediocre pit just for like 2 songs) while London has the best crowds… but it’s on a weekday. Berlin 2020 was really good, concert and audience-wise, so I’m aiming to see the two shows there. If the PL dates cost 150 zl or less, I’ll do both shows in Warsaw as well.

It is a big venue, but not that much considering NRW/Ruhrpott is one of the densest areas in all of Europe. And like @EvilHippy mentioned, the Netherlands have a big potential audience too.
But you’re right, Turbinenhalle is definitely huge for them… On the other hand I’ve heard from many people just attending for nostalgia and the vk scene was big in NRW at least 15 years ago lol

Warsaw 2018 didn’t have enough songs for the pit, lol.
Berlin 2020 was pretty good tho, true. New Age Culture was worth it.

I just moved up to Baltimore last year!! Grew up in DC proper but it’s just WAY too expensive to be down there anymore…
Pretty sure the first time I saw Diru were up here in Bmore though!! During the Age Quod Agis tour, they played I think Sonar?

This is amazingly planned tour!!! Mad respect! Back in 2020 i went to all shows and it was physically draining time. Kyo also said that he reached his physical and mental limits during that tour. Now we will have one day to travel!!! I’m so surprised that they come to Europe??? it’s so expensive to come now! But with Yen dropping i hope they will earn some money…

100% will get tickets for both London shows. Will be on the website like a hawk Tuesday morning. Haha

Yesss that sonar concert was so good. I just looked it up though and it’s gone now. :slightly_frowning_face:

Yeah it closed back in like, 2012 I think? And sadly, the last show’s headliners were Millionaire$

Lol, I was wayyy out of the loop on that one

Does anyone know if they have done or if it’s common for them to do a show in Vancouver? If they do a NA tour and come to Canada that’ll be my only hope of catching them!

based on setlist.fm, they have only ever played in TO (primarily) or MTL (havent been since 2011).

i dont have any hope for an South America tour, but one can dream

they were a day late for the seattle show in 2013 I had tickets for and had to travel south to visit, don’t even expect them to tour BC tbh

Im kinda wondering what the “more details” announcement will be tomorrow. Not really sure what more there is to know, maybe showing off the merch range? Or perhaps a chance for overseas fans to get a copy of the a knot Phalaris dvd/bluray (very doubtful but we can still hope).

Or probably info on the vip meet and greet things? Did that once and never again… haha. Nothing wrong with services provided on the day but the other fans there in attendance were so cringe it was unbelievable.

Ticket pricing and announcing whether there’s gonna be meet and greet events before gigs? Has that been talked about yet? I haven’t paid attention because I can’t go

Awesome, definitely gonna get two tickets for Warsaw shows

Well ticket pricing is already up for the London gigs at least but no meet and greet info as of yet so probably that.
