DIR EN GREY announces new album MORTAL DOWNER & tour

this is what Diru season is all about c: warms my heart. good job to everyone (sincerely)

I am not particularly captivated by the art or titles but those things tell us very little! The Distortion Rain song sounds really appealing on its face, I hope it’s good brooding music. I’m excited to listen to new Diru in a few weeks & share it with all of my Diru friends.

The shirt is commissioned…by Kaoru to this guy apparently. Appreciate that it was done by an artist despite our mixed opinions!

Also IG is so annoying with the username sharing, if any of you see anything like that please DM me right away so I can fix the link.

I can’t imagine looking at these titles and having a problem when we’ve had DOMESTIC FUCKER FAMILY, CLEVER SLEAZOID, BUGABOO, Jesus Christ R’n R, and STUCK MAN staring in our faces for years.

Since I mentioned the titles and no one else did I’ll assume this is meant for me.

They’re just boring and don’t inspire any interest or intrigue. Those are at least interesting, these ones are bland - but as I said you can’t really tell from titles alone, so, whatever. Don’t really have a problem, just giving an honest reaction.

What if I said the songs don’t match their titles? Talking about Discard, En’en and Demand, of course.

What if they’re all ballads?

Then I would ask you kindly to elaborate

Edit: never mind, I searched and some people on Reddit have shared their thoughts on the songs when they were played live. Pretty easy to figure out which song is which based on their order in the setlist I believe.

Judging from the comments I believe it’s:

Discard - heavy, EnEn - more chill mid tempo, Demand - totally crazy type shit

You weren’t the only one.

idk the titles you mentioned seem more inspired to me than “mobs”, “there’s nothing else” or “bloodline”, to me. Some of the ones are at least funny bad

Perhaps the real mortal downer were us diru fans all along

I kinda like the T Shirt, just would be better if the design was on the front and a plain back would have done the job.

My hope is that the lyrics are so deranged (in a good way) the titles defy expectations. But that’s probs too much from the band at this point.

All I’m saying is it’s weird to pass any sort of judgment on track titles. They aren’t an indication of anything.

Am I the only one? First thing that came to mind.

Didn’t come to mind from this, but it did from the World of Mercy PV.

I chuckled cuz I saw exactly what you were doing and knew the reaction it would get. You don’t need to be embarrassed. I hate how annoying the AI talk is. So you poking fun at it gets an A plus in my book.

Well played dawg

Surprised people hate the covers. I was about 99% sure that it would be some obvious AI slop, think random image from the devil in me PV.

I quite like the graphic style of the cover. However, as mentioned before, the typography looks rather amateurish, and this guy straight out of the Ku Klux Klan doesn’t really fit in with the patterns and the cube around him. It looks a bit messy, actually, even though the surrounding patterns are really cool. But hey, we’ve seen worse in terms of bad taste from DEG.
