DIR EN GREY - MORTAL DOWNER

That’s actually one of the biggest reasons why I like Mortal Downer. I’m getting tired of his weird noises and just want him to sing.

I know he mastered DIM. That might be the only one.

Yes, he mastered DIM. Also he is not a Bad Master Engineer however i don’t like his job with Diru. Also i think the biggest problem is the Production Decision of Diru haha i think they like sound like that because the mixers are not guilty 100%.

100%. This is the way the band wants their albums to sound.

I honestly really liked this album! It wasn’t as hype as others of their stuff like Vulgar (my personal fav), it was much more melancholy?

You just know Kaoru has the weirdest EQ settings.

If he did, his name was not in the album.

I think I listened to it in full like 12-15 times so far

ok i’m officially cresting the nadir of non-understanding. Arche aside, this might be headed toward my favourite diru album since DSS.

what happened / changed? i have no idea. I just keep wanting to listen to it every day.

I regret to inform you that Cube Wizard MD has mortal plummeted from being the first ever 5.0 album on RYM down to the third worst album in their discography.

This could have been prevented if Kaoru gave the fans what they really wanted: a fifth Vinushka.

So we only got 30 exclusive premium seconds for the new album PV this time?

I finished my first listen, I rather liked it! It’s an incredibly dreary listen and I think afterwards it clicks a lot better for me. It’s like listening to a hermit’s decades worth of anguish, it’s very interesting and I expect to pick up more and more details on subsequent listens. I feel like one doesn’t give it a service. My favorites were DEMAND and no end.

About 20 listens down, I kneel this is in fact peak.

Is this DeG’s most non-radio friendly album so far? I ask this, and I mean it with a positive intent (its growing more and more on me). But my friend said this to me and made me thinking which led to this post/question. What do you guys say?

I wonder what they think themselves about it, wish there were more interviews with like Kyo and stuff.

For now. We did have to wait for Unraveling full MV for about 2.5 years, so that wouldn’t be their first time. Alas, there aren’t enough MVs to drop AVERAGE IDIOCRACY.

Eh, there are En’en & no end that could have been premiered on radio. The rest? Well, D&D would be my other choices. The rest is either not catchy at all or too heavy.

Initial listen: It sounds like dir en grey.

As someone who’s an occasional fan and not into their brutal stuff, this album is easy on the ears. Nothing quite stands out just yet, but I like the arch-ness of it.

Until today we just got:

1-The Perfume Of Sins
2-Yurameki (2024)
3-The Devil In Me
4-MOBS

So i think they will release a Music Clip Collection when at least 2 more release (single or ep or album)

So do Japanese DIR EN GREY fans hate Deftones and Tool?

Probably just unfamiliar
