Show me the cover artwork and then I’ll preorder. This is the monkey brain way.
It’s also the minimalist way. I haven’t bought a physical CD and kept the case in several years so it’ll have to be a work of art or super nostalgic for me to do so.
If I don’t want to hold it in my hands and look at it with my eyes at least once a day, then why did I even buy it?
Absolutely, rather than it sitting on a shelf with other albums/vinyl/books etc collecting dust and never being played again. There’s a reason why so many of the Japanese fan base will buy a CD, rip it, and sell it the next day.
I feel so noticed
The real question is if we’ll get any vintage shirt designs. Still haven’t bought a DIR EN GREY shirt in well over a decade.
Put in my pre-order! Super excited
Just ordered it myself too. Went for the version with the most shizz on it but honestly I have no idea what to expect from this so looking forward to seeing what its all about. Was keen to get one of those preorder bonus sleeves though and ending date for that is a couple of weeks off so thought id just get in now. Haha.
I had the impression Kyo didn’t like those super early days of DeG, I think he has said it in some interview that they/himself “looked stupid”. Cant wait to see what look they will embrace for the single and PV.
Ive just had a thought… what if this “new” single is just a rerelease of the original recordings of those tracks rather than rerecorded versions? Hahaha.
Might as well release Gauze -Remastered and Expanded- at that point OMG
See the above post:
They’re re-recordings, not remakes. They’ll keep the original structure and lyrics.
From what I’m getting, at least.
The official site states they’ll be “re-make(s)… keeping the taste of the melody line and lyrics…, yet giving you the vibes of the current DIR EN GREY”.
I’m expecting muddy drop-tuning, pig squeals/Kyopera, and triggered percussion.
they say a lot of stupid shit to explain changes in their looks over time, most of which reads like a round-about way of admitting they gave up on the local scene chasing the mainstream metalhead $.
it is the same kyo who started sukekiyo with all of its glammed up, screaming, gaudy splendor, and who referenced their past eras for at least a couple Deg albums at this point.
their super early days were at worst generic, at best they were a solid kote act on a modest budget.
Yeah, what I mean is just that they’ll probably be more like THE FINAL/Kasumi and THE FINAL/Kasumi (2013), and less like Kiri to Mayu and Kiri to Mayu (2012), or -ZAN- and Zan.
My post wasnt meant to be taken seriously btw. Was just thinking how hilariously disappointing that would be. Haha. Not sure youd be able to advertise that off as a “new single” for starters.
I do kinda have to feel though, is a third version of Zan necessary? Like is this going to replace the current remake in the live situation or what? Haha
I’d rather listen to Kyo laughing like a deranged goblin than the oogabooga cookie monster remake. Original is so much better (imho). Really curious about the upcoming version.
Same. I kinda feel like it may sit somewhere between the original and current remake.
So like a HYBRID version? Gonna need some children in that👀
