Both of the covers are jokes I think. The first one is a Fire Emblem reference. The second I think is a joke because ReS hasn’t been a thing since 2008 and I haven’t heard of them reforming.

Sure, I’d say it’s possible. During arguably the point in their career when they took themselves the most seriously, they released AMON as a ‘mook’ single along with 残 (Wizardry ver.) for Wizardry Online. If you’re curious, it’s a very subtle remix with a different ambient intro (about 37 seconds long). Nothing too exciting.

emotional lyrics about the weakness of human beings expressing their heartache, along with the typical sound and atmosphere only DIR EN GREY can create.

These descriptions are always the best part of the DEG release cycle. “Hear the anguish of human existence and experience twisted despair,” except this time they’re claiming the sound and atmosphere is “typical”. Usually they tell you it’s like nothing you’ve ever heard before, and yet it ends up being like everything I’ve heard before. So I guess they’re telling the truth.
