DIR EN GREY "TOUR25 WHO IS THIS HELL FOR?" USA Leg announced

I’d also assume that Western festival staff doesn’t care that much about a “random Japanese band” at 2 pm (just like the crowd), so they don’t put as much effort into it.
And I also guess that they don’t bring all of their staff overseas, so they have to work with what they have (and the local staff), so I’m not sure if they can always 100% communicate their wishes. Also they’re probably not used to have changing staff they don’t know (unlike other bigger metal bands which regularly tour outside of their home countries).
And to be honest (considering the technical part), Dir en grey are probably quite the divas.

That’s surely true for more than the technical parts :joy:

Let’s just hope for more luck this time :grimacing:

They’ve had a slew of technical issues over the years, and I wonder if this something I’m aware of out of how much I’ve followed them, and that’s it’s perfectly normal, or that they’ve just ran into bad luck.

The broadcasted festival performances haven’t gone well, as most have already pointed out, but also the 2018 tour had issues on a bunch of the dates; the Warsaw show stopped for a while, and iirc London had to change the setlist after something just gave out. I think I recall other tours having issues, but I can’t say for sure. I don’t know what kind of a crew they’re bringing over, but yeah, I haven’t seen this with other bands to this extent.

Some of the incidentes were surely bad luck. This 2009 Kerrang concert in London was cancelt because the electricity went out. My bestie was there and she is still so pissed she remembered the exact date and full tour name. She traveled to London just to see DeG.

Does this more-or-less guarantee they’re staying in LA right now and are recording the album there? IIRC, the only thing we knew previously was the new LP was being made in an undisclosed American location.

Maybe they don’t have the funds to travel further afield, or maybe they don’t have the time to be away from the studio.

Probably what’s happened is they booked a specific time to record and finalise the new album in LA, and these shows are just a bonus for those who happen to live in the area. They’re likely recording/mixing during the day, and performing over a few evenings to maximise the time and give back to the fans.

They’re recording in America?? I thought they simply announced they were starting studio work after the American dates, which I assumed they would do in their home country. An album takes a while and I don’t think they’d stay abroad.

I was so sure they said they would be working with an American producer. Maybe I got my knickers in a twist somewhere along the way.

My memory can be weird sometimes. Sorry if this was wrong information.

Maybe they’re going to track at Larrabee!

They said no live shows in Japan for a while, not that they’re going into exile (though I do like that idea)

How many couches does Kamijo have in LA? Maybe they gonna crash there

Who is the producer again??

But I guess there is someone who hates the idea: Kyo :grimacing::sweat_smile:

If they convinced him to record overseas, I’d be really impressed.

Is this confirmed, or just wishful thinking?
