This makes it sound like they are some kind of Vampires Yoshiki created Shinya with a bite!
I wonder if they were back to back or at different times. Anyway Kyo quite often doesnt sing big portions of songs in sacrifice for his “performance” so guess the other guys can get away with dicking around a little too. Haha.
They were at the same time, right at the beginning. He continued the melody instead of switching to the next one, or something like that.
Reminds me of that old clip of the band starting Ash, and Shinya just sat there and didn’t play the opening fill after Kyo screams “Ash!”
I might be wrong but it could be a monitor issue. Even in small venues where you can often “hear” what is going on on the PA, it can be really hard to hear yourself if the monitor isn’t working properly. And if you’re the drummer, which basically is the element other musicians refer to, well…
Dang. I got the email an hour ago.
I was looking forward to it, but I -am- happy to not be spending a thousand dollars.
Wonder what happened
I feel like ticket sales were low. They were so expensive
Edit: news sources are reporting that the festival sold about a third of available tickets
the headliners were shit and not worth the ticket price imo
im glad they got saved from that mess
I would’ve gone for Diru, Evanescence, and AFI tbqh…
But, I wouldn’t travel all the way to Vegas for em.
Not only that, but specifically the drummer’s monitors not working is a nightmare because they’ve got the loudest instrument with no way of positioning themselves away from its sound source (like how a guitarist could move away from their amp). So they can’t avoid their own instrument blocking them from hearing amplifiers in front of them facing toward the audience.
You could also dive into how relying on stage levels can make timing between bandmembers more difficult, as each member is going to hear each other instrument at slightly different times based on how far they are from each sound source.
Bad/no monitors is just a fucking nightmare in every way you can think of
