DIR EN GREY

I wish every band did this; you come up with a lot of fancier parts and get to A/B test a lot of ideas before committing them to the recording if you run them thru some rehearsals and shows first

It’s nothing new. I actually have a list of all songs they performed live before they were properly released in any way.

Keibetsu to Hajimari holds the record with 740 days, from its live debut on September 16, 2016, to its release on The Insulated World on September 26, 2018.

So yeah, nothing unusual there. I’m just wondering how they will deal with the U-NEXT livestream coming up, will they remove the songs from the footage? Or will they announce the titles in some way beforehand?

Sigh…

Plenty of bands/artists play new songs before official release, whether they’re as established as DEG or not.

And I’m sorry but we got 2 back to back releases last year. I promise you’re gonna be fine dawg.

Sorry about the out-of-place comment, but I’ve been wondering:

Do diru ever to 2-shot or 6-shot, or sell cheki, or any kind of fan meeting thing? I’ve been getting into a lot of smaller vk bands and they seem to do these kind of more “intimate” events a lot. I know that diru have their a knot fanclub, which they do fanclub-only lives, right?

Just wondering

there’s signing events for new releases but that’s about it

Good to know, thanks! Honestly i find it a lil awkward imagining kyo taking 2 shots with fans lol.

I am fine…., never said I wasn’t…. Haha.

There’s a certain sense of going through a crucible bands have to deal with in their early years, where they HAVE to gig-test new music because they just don’t have time not to. Things get refined by how the energy feels when those songs are played live.

And then when a band blows up beyond a certain point, that just… doesn’t get done really anymore

Here are scans of the latest Toshiya interview.
In case if you satisfied your horniness and want to learn some trivia - here’s a quick Google Translate of this interview.

Oh Hai old-school Google Translate

At least I’m happy that Toshiya decided to be more pro-active with DEG songwriting. The less Kaoru stuff there is - the more interesting album I can expect

It seems chapter 0 was supposed to be the tour for the new album, wonder what kind of trouble that they got themselves into production that delayed the album

Are they finally having their “We have different Shared Goals”, “differences in music…”?

Die: Let’s make punk rock!

Shinya: Let’s make something cute and angelic.

Kyo: Fuck everything, next release will be incomprehensible nonsense.

Kaoru: Downtune the guitars again, the mix isn’t muddy enough.

Toshiya: I just like playing cool bass and having girls scream my name.

Edit: to be fair, it’s kinda always been this way.
