Deity beating Shokubeni is legendary, happy to see DEG fans triumph over DEG fans today.

I realize that they posted the full name of Bottom of the death valley so people wouldn’t be confused, but the layout of this tweet looks like they saw the results of this poll and went “lol fuck that shit”.

Deity album version is so much better than the oogabooga live they’ve been playing for a few years now. I love the atmospheric ambient layers, industrial percussion, and the weird stretched out samples in the studio original. I find nu-Deity a bit boring, honestly.
Shokubeni is by far the superior song in a live setting.

Tousei is possibly one of my favourites on ARCHE. Toguro is great, too… however, Tousei is better (in my opinion; feel free to disagree).

Overall, the fanbase chose well.

Sidenote: Does anyone have a translation for what the woman is saying in the opening of Deity?

Looking at TDFF’s teaser and some of their live footages - I really want to visit their gig when they use lasers a lot. So intense and chaotic, damn

Found this on Shinya’s instagram.

An interview between Mana and Shinya. I think you have to sign up for the whole thing. The full talk was supposedly an hour and a half long. Unsure if there’s video.

The weirdest crossover I never knew I needed

Really hope they don’t rush it this time. TIW suffered so much from last-minute mastering.

The garbage-disposal sound of TIW is still haunting my dreams. Better a delay than a rush job!

I thought the overall concensus was that TIW at least shines in live setting. So, if they can do that AND have a better mastering, then it’s a win/win for everyone?

Please don’t do second DSS (by that I mean unlistenable when performed live).

how lazy the constant criticism of TIW gives me…
You have to get over it now. PLEASE

Alas, this will never end
I love TIW, but I’m fine with being in minority about it.

I hear that. I actually thought it had a good handful of pretty decent tracks and I still enjoy spinning it as much as any other DEG releases…

TIW is okay. I like all the songs except one (Celebrate Empty Howls). Some of the songwriting is lazy/copypasted from previous parts of their career, but I’m willing to overlook that because I’m just glad my favourite band is still making music after 25 years. It sounds good in a live setting.

The mastering is the problem, and it’s probably because they took too long recording (or started too late), so it was a last-minute rush job for those final important days of polishing the album.

This is a fact. Not something you get over, because the damage is already done. Miyamoto’s quote is apt here.

Honestly, I don’t know what to expect from PHALARIS. I’ve still not heard Ochita. TIW was out of nowhere from where ARCHE left off in terms of sound. Each of their albums are pretty different. My only hope is that it won’t be bad or sound like garbage.

I still say Kisou sounds the worst.

Oh yeah, and Uroboros remastered. Yuck.

Out of interest, what don’t you like about Celebrate Empty Howls? Surely Devote My Life is the more offending track

Devote My Life is easily the most skippable track on the album

honestly having trouble remembering what it sounds like since I’ve skipped it so much at this point
