I have an unfortunate problem where i end up loving songs by bands that i like and those songs end up never being played live or haven’t been played for years.
The biggest offender for me is sadie. One of my favorite bands yet all of my favorite songs of theirs are buried on first press editions of albums or singles.
My all time favorite songs is sadie’s newage slicer. They only released it on the first press of Master of Romance and i feel many of their fans don’t even know it exists. Other favorites of mine are dustin fucker life (only released on the crimson tear limited edition), greedy emotion, rock n roll stinky people (this one is kind of well known), blue irony, loud up generation, that long titled song from grieving the dead soul single, the ORIGINAL version of sexual affection, etc. Guess how many of these songs the play often? Exactly.
The same problem exists with Diru (my favorite band), Lynch, The Gazette, and a few others.
Lynch and Gazette will rotate songs a lot more in their lives but they’re still super uncommon.
The other major band that does this worse than anyone that i like is rammstein. They literally play the same songs EVERY SHOW.
I dont get why there isn’t any live recording of it. I remember listening to The Bullet Storm for the first time and this one was probable my favourite out of the whole EP with Silent Eve.
Not sure, if this fits because I am not that familiar with their discography, but the first thing that came to my mind is Plastic Tree’s Barrier. I love that song so much, it’s one of my favourite VK songs. But it does seem rather unpopular because not many people (aside from real PT fans) know it.
And I never met someone who is as enthustiastic about it as me
Unfortunately it is also not on Spotify. The band itself has lots of albums there, but not the one with that song.
I don’t see this being vibed to that often amongst other MCM fans. Such a vibe track though definitely not the best representative of theiractual, morerecognizablestyle. And in case you never heard of MCM before, you definitely need to give them a shot (you can hear some of their influence in e.g. Petit Brabancon and even Gazette (!) these days).
MCM is actually who changed the trajectory of my life with discovering my love for japan and music. I have all their albums and apart from Deg they’re forever my favorites. From the same album, they never released a live of xxx can of this, my guess is because its literally about weed lmao. They also never seemed to play PARK live, so when i was in school in japan me and my friends did a cover band and one of the three songs was PARK.
A huge band. I love their entire discography but Osc-Dis is my favorite. I must have listened to “All the Time in Sunny Beach” a thousand times since I discovered them in the early 2000s. I’m absolutely obsessed with this song.
The first CDs i ever bought were OSCDIS and their best of set. 13 year old me was obsessed. 15 years later and i have hundreds of cds, some i think are probably rare like MCMs Eject out single and a lot of old Sadie singles. Easily spent thousands of dollars on my collection.
Yes this song got a PV, and yes it also has its fair share of live performances but i feel like it’s underrated with fans. Anyway, I think HORIZON is my favourite song of them
