Really used to love 12012 during their “poppy” era (Was Pain of Catastrophe poppy? lol)
Anyways when they released Decida of Silence I was aghast and in love. (especially the first 1:30 mins) I hadn’t listened to much of their old stuff other than Burn; had no idea they made heavy stuff like that.
Anyways this post is a cry for recommendations for songs or bands with a similar sounding heavy/haunting guitar work.

Continuing with 12012 i’d add Chaboo chaboo which is full of cool heavy riffs, this era of them was cool 
And, then i’d add OZ with their song Detox, which is not the heaviest song from them but I love the guitar work so i’m just sneaking it here

I only caught -OZ- at the tail end of their career with their Pressed Flower and Rain Delay releases. I really like their Vocalist’s voice. Amazing growls/screams and very eerie haunting clean voice. I can’t find them on spotify so it’s been hard to get into their catalog.
Deluhi is a classic omg love them.
I hadn’t really bumped any ALSDEAD, SIGNAL or Biosphere, will do more research.
The Kagrra track was a bopppp.

But in general I prefer Western metal bands for crazy heavy guitar work. Ulcerate and DsO are so far ahead of Japanese bands when it comes to this stuff imo
