I know the board is international, but I wanted to let folks know about a little event we’re doing in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, on October 19th.
Harajuku Day is a monthly event, and this month’s theme is a visual kei celebration.
We’ll have:
-An outfit contest
-A station where fans can make their own cheki
-video messages from some VK bands like Xaaxaa and the Madna
-Vendors selling some VK merch, and handmade goods
-A swap meet where you can sell or buy second hand VK and other harajuku style clothes
-And a vkei karaoke after party
It’s an all ages event, except for the Karaoke part.
Given that it’s also on the anniversary of Atsushi Sakurai’s passing, we’ll also be doing a little homage to him and singing some Buck-Tick at the karaoke place.
